Samsung Galaxy XR new leaks reveal key specifications, features, and more

Samsung is gearing up to launch its first-ever headset, named Galaxy XR, on October 21, and now a new leak reveals almost everything about the device.

The Korean tech giant has been working on its Galaxy XR for over a year and has teased it on several occasions to increase the enthusiasm among Galaxy fans. Back in July, at the Earnings Call 2025, Samsung officially announced that it will launch the XR headset and Galaxy Tri-Fold by the end of this year; however, it didn’t mention the exact launch date.

Meanwhile, one of our reliable colleagues, Android Headline, shared almost everything about the Galaxy XR, including specifications, weight, design, and features.

According to the report, the upcoming Galaxy XR weighs 545 g, which makes it lighter than the Apple Vision Pro, with 600 g. It is equipped with a modern curved glass surface, a ventilated frame, soft padding inside, and detachable light shields.

The headset is reported to feature a market-leading display with two 4K micro-OLED panels per eye, reaching 4.3K at 90 fps per eye, delivering a pixel density of up to 4,032 PPI across 29 million total pixels. With these display capabilities, it will surpass the Vision Pro’s 23 million pixels.

The company powered the device with the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, which is compatible with AI tasks, virtual space, and high-resolution mixed reality applications to deliver a seamless performance. It will run One UI XR based on Android XR, integrated with the Gemini AI assistant to handle searches, settings, and notifications. Reportedly, it comes with several convenient apps, which are as follows:

  • Camera, Gallery, Chrome, Maps, YouTube, Netflix, and Play Store

Apart from this, it also features notable novelties such as six front and bottom sensors, 1 depth sensor on the forehead, 4 eye-tracking cameras, and omnidirectional microphones, allowing accurate recognition of hand, eye, and voice movements.

It will have two 6DoF controllers with analog sticks, triggers, and vibration feedback and will feature a spatial audio system with four two-way speakers for an enhanced sound experience. The battery is reported to last up to 2 hours for general use and 2.5 hours when watching videos.
