Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s recent camera leak is a matter of disappointment for fans

Samsung is eyeing bringing some major changes and refinements with its upcoming premium lineup, the Galaxy S26 series. However, the S26 Ultra’s camera will perhaps be a matter of great disappointment anyway.

So far, leaks and rumors have already highlighted what to expect with the next generation flagships, from major rebranding of the base model to Pro and the middle one to Edge, while the Ultra remains the same, to slight design changes.

Meanwhile, a new report provides a slight idea of the zoom camera of the high-end model, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, but it’s not up to par.

According to the latest leak presented by the tipster, UniverseIce on X, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is not expected to lead from the camera front and is rumored to feature the inferior 10MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom support alongside F/2.4 1/3.94” instead of the 12MP camera, which is just similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

However, in any case, if Samsung is perhaps bringing the same telephoto camera for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, then it would be highly disappointing for the Galaxy fans with probably no camera upgrade. Even Apple has opted for a 48MP triple camera setup through the camera hardware for its newly launched iPhone 17 Pro.

At the same time, other Chinese brands have started adopting the huge 200MP telephoto camera sensor, which is comparatively bigger than Samsung’s sensor.

Well, Samsung has greatly evolved in the camera advancements and technologies; however, the company is not upgrading the camera hardware up to par and is sticking to the previous resolutions for its next-generation Galaxy S26 family.

Nevertheless, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series is expected to run Android 16 QPR2-based One UI 8.5, which significantly suggests that there will be more exciting changes and redesigns alongside the addition of more new features. Also, Samsung is already testing the latest One UI 8.5 build for the upcoming flagships.
