Samsung partnered with the US and Chinese firms to expand innovations in AI medical devices

Samsung Electronics has constantly been aiming towards advancements in the medical sector via its AI-powered medical devices and solution businesses in the recent past.

Meanwhile, the company is now focusing on extending new markets through medical devices and strengthening connectivity with existing businesses, including Galaxy smartphones and wearables.

According to the Korean news outlet Business Korea, Samsung Electronics’ medical device division, alongside other affiliates involved in health-related solution businesses, held the Samsung Medical AI Summit at Samsung Medison’s office by the end of last month, which was an internal event basically not open to the public, where the company shared the latest AI-powered technology trends and even shared the vision or roadmap for future medical device technology.

At the same time, to seek global business expansion in the medical or healthcare sector, Samsung is collaborating with the US while also inviting companies, including Google, and further collaborating with a few Chinese firms such as Impulsion and Flexiv. Other than that, right after acquiring the French AI medical device startup Sono-i in May last year, Samsung partnered with a firm named Xealth, the US-based digital healthcare firm, this year.

Well, Samsung’s strategy is quite simple, where the company wishes to build a comprehensive yet connected business that is linked with various health and well-being areas, including care for individuals’ regular health via its advanced products like Galaxy Watches, Galaxy Buds, and Galaxy Rings, alongside medical fields.

Nevertheless, it looks like Samsung is succeeding in developing more advanced healthcare and wellness technologies. Recently, the company came up with the first-ever innovation in the early diagnosis of major health problems such as heart failure and brain issues using its Galaxy Watches.
