Samsung Galaxy Phones are superior to iPhones for sending location data to rescuers

Samsung Galaxy phones are superior to one of its biggest rivals in the smartphone market, Apple’s iPhones, in terms of sending location data to rescuers.

Unquestionably, Samsung and Apple are the two toughest competitors of each other in the tech market, and never miss a single chance to poke other. Now Samsung gets one more point to tease Apple, as the Galaxy smartphones are quite superior to iPhones in sending location data to rescuers.

A new report says the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) conducted a new test that shows that Samsung Galaxy phones are more worthy than iPhones in sending location data to rescuers, a factor that can decide survival in urgent moments.

According to the test, the Galaxy S24 Ultra just took between 1.4 and 2.4 seconds to transmit location data with an accuracy of around 13-25 meters, based on whether it was using a cell tower, GPS, or Wi-Fi.

On the comparison side, the iPhone took an average of around 20 seconds to send the data, and the inconvenient fact is that it only provided limited location information via GPS and Wi-Fi, which results in a slower process to identify callers in distress.

Reportedly, one of the notable facts of the iPhone is that it only authorizes location data to be shared within 5 minutes of an emergency call, raising security risks and battery drain concerns. When asked, Apple refuses to accommodate the emergency location system to local standards, citing its global privacy policy.

All of the above discussion concludes that the Galaxy smartphones are more convenient in emergencies compared to iPhones, emphasizing the role of rapid response technology and precise positioning factors that can help save lives in a split second.
