Apple could launch Vision Pro 2 before Samsung debuts Galaxy XR

Samsung should hurry up to launch its first XR Headset, as its rival Apple is all set to launch its second Vision Pro headset.
It’s been more than a year Korean tech giant has been working on its very first extended reality (XR) headset, which is officially named Galaxy XR. The company has already teased the device on several occasions, such as the Galaxy Unpacked event.
Back in July, during the Earnings Call 2025 event, Samsung announced that it would launch its XR Headset alongside the Galaxy Tri-Fold phone by the end of this year; however, it has yet to unveil the exact launch date.
A recent report claimed that Samsung will announce the upcoming Galaxy XR on October 21, which means next week, although it’s not officially confirmed yet.
Meanwhile, a new report from Bloomberg now claims that Apple is gearing up to launch its second-generation Vision Pro Headset powered by the M5 chipset this week, which will definitely raise the competition for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy XR.
In case the report comes true, then Apple could launch its second-generation XR headset before Samsung even announces its first officially. If this happens, Apple maintains its lead in the XR Headset segment.
All of the above discussion suggests that, now it’s high time when Samsung should stop teasing its XR head and launch it as soon as possible, to stand strong against Apple’s Vision Pro. However, nothing is officially clear yet, so it remains to be seen what will happen next.
