One UI 8.5 to bring a new Network Battery Saver feature

Samsung is actively working on its next major iteration, One UI 8.5, which is now anticipated to bring a new feature called Network Battery Saver.

Samsung is supposed to introduce the One UI 8.5 with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series in early 2026. This latest software version is expected to be a major one as compared to One UI 8.0, as it will bring several notable UI upgrades, customization options, more convenient features, including Galaxy AI, tweaks, redesigned app icons, and enhancements.

Meanwhile now a new report from one of our reliable colleagues, Android Authority, revealed that it has discovered a few strings of code in One UI 8.5 that mention a new feature called Network Battery Saver.

Reportedly, the feature can recognise when your phone is not in use, such as when you are sleeping, and limit the network usage, which will be convenient for lowering the battery drain and offering a longer battery backup. The feature will be based on Personal Data Intelligence, which helps it to recognise whether the phone is in use or not, to understand your usage pattern.

In case you missed it, Personal Data Intelligence is already available on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse the patterns in which users use their device, and then create a knowledge graph of their habits.
