The existence of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge is currently a hot topic among Galaxy fans, as it is again expected to arrive next year after the cancellation rumor.
The Korean tech giant is gearing up to launch the next-generation Galaxy S26 series in March 2026. Initially, the series was expected to include three models: Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
According to the initial reports, it was almost confirmed that the company is replacing the Galaxy S26 Plus with the Edge; however, a recent rumor claims that it’s not the case anymore, as Samsung is considering shutting down the “Edge” series due to the lower sales rate of the Galaxy S25 Edge. This suggests that Galaxy S26 Edge will not arrive; meanwhile, a new report hints that the device might still be in the pipeline for next year.
One of the reliable blogs, Galaxy Club, revealed that under the hood, Samsung started developing a new phone under the codename “More Slim” a few months ago. Following the codename tracks, this newly developing device is expected to be the Galaxy S26 Edge, as the Galaxy S25 Edge was codenamed “Slim.”
However, to date, Samsung hasn’t released a single statement regarding all of these reports, whether it is ditching the Plus variant or replacing it with the Edge. It will be interesting to see whether the newly spotted “More Slim” device will be commercialized as the Galaxy S26 Edge.
