One UI 8.5 Priority Notifications’ first interface look revealed

Samsung is developing its next major One UI 8.5 software iteration, which is anticipated to bring the Priority Notifications feature, and now its first look reveals.

Samsung is still busy rolling out the Android 16-based One UI 8 update gradually to all the eligible Galaxy devices; meanwhile, it is already working on the One UI 8.5, which is supposed to be introduced with the Galaxy S26 next year.

The company is expected to offer several notable tweaks, customization options, upgrades, and features with the One UI 8.5. One of the notable features Samsung is offering with this coming update is Priority Notifications.

Noticeably, a few days back, this feature had already appeared in an unreleased One UI 8.5 beta firmware, but it wasn’t working back then. Now, a new report revealed that in the latest leaked firmware, the feature started working properly.

Now, a user, Sandeep Adap, shared a screenshot on X, revealing the first look at the Priority Notifications, and mentioned, “Priority Notifications are now active.”

A leaked screenshot shows that priority notifications are highlighted and displayed at the top of the notification panel. It seems that this new feature will set the new standard in One UI 8.5, which will be significant for important notifications to stand out more without even breaking the overall minimalist design of the interface.

The feature is well described in the settings “show important notifications above other notifications to make sure you don’t miss them.”
