Samsung Electronics secured the top position in the global DRAM market in Q3 2025

Samsung Electronics has surpassed its rival, SK Hynix, as it leads the global DRAM market in the third quarter of this year with 34.8% market share.

Notably, Samsung Electronics has been working diligently for a long time to maintain its leading position in the DRAM market, as its rivals, especially SK Hynix, are doing very well and raising competition.

Finally, in Q3 2025, the company regained its leading position with $13.94 billion in revenue, which helped it to secure 34.8% of the market share. It is a 29.6% increase compared to the second quarter of this year.

According to a new report from China Plasma Market (via), the strong demand for HBM and the continued price escalation of DRAM helped Samsung Electronics regain its top position in the global DRAM market. The report states that Samsung shipped 85% more HBM high-bandwidth memory compared to Q2 2025.

On the rivalry side, SK Hynix secured second position in the market with $13.79 billion in revenue, which accounts for 34.4 % of the market share. However, the gap between Samsung and SK Hynix is so close. Micron is in the third position with $8.98 billion in revenue, which helps it to secure 22.4% of the market share.

The overall DRAM market revenue in the third quarter reached $40.03 billion, representing a 24.7% increase from Q2 2025 and a 54% year-over-year increase. It will be interesting to see whether Samsung Electronics will continue to lead the market.
