Samsung is gearing up to launch its first-ever smart glasses next year; meanwhile, a new report is now revealing the key details of the glasses.
A few weeks ago, Samsung launched the Galaxy XR headset based on Android XR, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, with an integrated 16GB of RAM and a 256GB internal storage variant.
The company is now looking forward to launching two smart glasses models, one expected in 2026 and the other in 2027. Meanwhile, one of the reliable blogs, GalaxyClub, has now shared a few key details of the coming smart glasses.
According to the report, Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses have a dedicated model number SM-O200P. Samsung is reportedly offering transition-style lenses for glasses that adjust their tint based on ambient light. The company can use light-responsive glass. If the report is to be believed, these smart glasses are particularly for the US market.
One notable fact is that the company is expected to launch these glasses under a separate product lineup, as the model number differs from that of the Galaxy XR, which has an SM-I model series. However, it remains unclear whether these lenses also function as a display capable of projecting visual information.
The report suggests that Samsung’s first smart glasses may feature a built-in camera, hinting that they will be able to capture or process more than simple heads-up data. The connectivity facilities will be offered by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth using a paired smartphone. It remains to be seen whether the leaked details will come into existence.
