Samsung Galaxy A77 doesn’t even exist, as the leak turned out to be fake

Samsung Galaxy A7x series fans, the company is still not considering expanding the series with the Galaxy A77 launch, as the listing of the device turned out to be fake.

Recently, a Galaxy device with the model number SM-A776B sparked speculation that it is the long-lost Galaxy A77 smartphone. However, it’s no longer the case, since the listing turned out to be fake.

A tipster, Abhishek Yadav, who initially revealed the Geekbench listing of the SM-A776B device and claimed it Galaxy A77, has now shared a new post on X, saying that the spotted model number wasn’t a new Samsung phone at all.

According to the tipster, someone used a rooted Galaxy S24 FE and manually modified its CPU configuration, making it appear as an unannounced model with a deca-core Exynos processor and Xclipse 940 GPU.

This fake profile was enough to mislead the benchmarking database temporarily and cause confusion online. This means that the Korean tech giant is not looking forward to expanding the Galaxy A7x series, and the Galaxy A77 doesn’t even exist.

However, the company is actively working on expanding its mid-range smartphone lineup. Currently, it is developing the Galaxy A56’s successor, the Galaxy A57 smartphone, to launch next year. Samsung will power the device with the in-house Exynos 1680 SoC.
