Samsung Might End Six-Year Streak With S26 Ultra Battery Boost

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is already anticipated to bring a new revolution to the Galaxy smartphone family; meanwhile, it is now reported to get a notable battery upgrade.

Under the hood, the Korean tech giant has been working on the upcoming Galaxy S26 series for some time, which is expected to launch sometime in late January 2026. Initially, it was expected that the lineup would include three models, excluding the Plus variant; however, recent reports have revealed that there will be no changes in the lineup.

The Galaxy S26 series will have three variants: Base, Plus, and Ultra. To date, dozens of leaks and rumors have already revealed almost all details regarding the specifications, design, features, and processor of these models.

Meanwhile, a new report via Instant Digital on Weibo claimed that Samsung is considering offering a battery upgrade, i.e., 5,200mAh, to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, it’s not a major battery upgrade in numbers, but the company has been sticking to a 5,000mAh battery since the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which makes it a notable upgrade.

Comparing a 5,000mAh battery to a 5,200mAh battery, this represents only a 4% increase and is 200mAh lower than a few previous rumors that the device could reach 5,400mAh. However, the official statement regarding the battery capacity of the Galaxy S26 Ultra hasn’t been revealed yet; it remains to be seen whether the newly leaked report will come true.
