Samsung is secretly working on a brand new foldable to expand the Galaxy Z-series next year, which has now appeared on the GSMA database.
The company ritually launches the latest Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip phones each year; for instance, last year it launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6, and this year introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Following this ritual, the company is supposed to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 & Flip 8 next year.
A previous report suggests that this time the company is looking forward to launching at least three new foldable phones for 2026, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. Apart from these two models, there’s a third mysterious device in the pipeline, which carries the model number SM-F971. However, this model number doesn’t seem to be for the Flip 8 FE. It’s expected that it could stand for the Galaxy Fold 8 FE.
Meanwhile, Smartprix has now reported that Samsung’s mysterious foldable phone has appeared on the GSMA database, carrying the codename H8. While the Galaxy Z Fold 8 & Flip 8 are expected to be codenamed by Q8 and B8, respectively.

This suggests that the device could not belong to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup, and it could be introduced dedicatedly. However, the listing doesn’t confirm whether this new device is a clamshell-style Flip or a book-style fold.
Since there’s no official report regarding this brand-new foldable device yet, it remains to be seen whether this device will join the foldable device lineup or launch separately.
