Samsung has just detailed the latest December 2025 security update for its Galaxy smartphones and tablets; meanwhile, the company has yet to cover a few models to deliver the ongoing November update, and now, the Galaxy S21 Series is getting a new software update, despite its already being out of the race for receiving any major OS update in the future.
Well, the Galaxy S21 Series is no longer eligible to receive a single major OS update according to its dedicated software update policy; it’s now included within the group of devices getting updates on a quarterly basis.
Now, Samsung is already rolling out the November 2025 security update, which is currently available in the Netherlands alongside some parts of Europe, and is expected to expand to even more countries over the coming weeks.
Specifically, the latest November 2025 update firmware for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra has been identified with the G991BXXSIHYK1, G996BXXSIHYK1, and G998BXXSIHYK1 version numbers, respectively.
At the same time, the update, however, doesn’t bring any major features and changes, but it significantly adds a handful of fixes brought up by both Google and Samsung collectively that focus on improving the device’s overall security, core functionality, and performance in order to provide a secure user experience, while also protecting the device against external threats.
Other than that, the update further brings several performance optimizations and adds stability to the entire system behavior that eventually leads to a smoother and more efficient experience for the users.
Well, this latest is the third consecutive software update for the Galaxy S21 Series, as Samsung delivered a monthly security patch somewhere at the end of August, followed two months later by the October patch, and now the November patch as well.
Nevertheless, Samsung has indeed ended the software update support for the Galaxy S21 series, but the devices continue to receive monthly security patches until eligible.
