One UI 8.5 to bring a new feature to tackle annoying ad notifications on Galaxy phones

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 is steadily taking shape in the form of the company’s next major yet significant software, and so is the wait for the arrival of the next-gen Galaxy S26 series. While Samsung is already rumoured to begin the beta program as early as this month, a fresh leak suggests the addition of the most annoying factor.

Well, it is believed that Samsung is supposed to be preparing to release the One UI 8.5 beta program this month. At the same time, it is not too far away when the Galaxy S25 series owners will start testing  the latest beta channel! Now, a new feature has been added to the One UI 8.5 list.

Meanwhile, according to the reliable tipster, Tarun Vats, on X, Samsung is possibly planning to introduce a new ‘Block apps with excessive ads’ option, which is placed within the phone’s Device care settings. Basically, those annoying apps that frequently share ad notifications are going to be put into deep sleep in order to prevent them from sending those frustrating ads.

On the other hand, this feature apparently acts as a smart notification blocking system where the phone automatically detects the apps that are sending frequent ads and blocks, thus providing users a peace of mind when operating their Galaxy device.

At the same time, previous reports about Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5 have significantly pointed towards the arrival of a significant wireless charging upgrade, which is expected to start from the Galaxy S26 Series phones, and it is perhaps going to be expanded to newer generation flagships.

Not just this, Samsung is also preparing to enhance Now Brief’s YouTube and Spotify recommendations with the One UI 8.5 version.
