
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has set a new sales benchmark for foldable phones and has driven rapid growth in the global foldable market in Q3 2025.
Samsung just launched its latest Galaxy Z TriFold foldable phone powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite, running Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box, and featuring several form factors. A few months ago, the company launched its seventh-generation foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is now making headlines.
A new report from Counterpoint Research revealed that the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 sales drove rapid growth in the global foldable market in the third quarter of this year. According to the report, the worldwide smartphone market grew 14% YoY in Q3 2025. One of the reasons behind this growth is the higher sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The company has secured the top position in the foldable market during the third quarter of this year with 64% market share. While Huawei is in second position with a 15% share, Motorola secured 7%, Honor has 6%, and Vivo secured 4% market share.
The growth in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Huawei Mate sales in China helped the worldwide foldable market growth in the third quarter. Apart from this, analysts at Counterpoint Research also claimed that the market will enter a more prominent expansion phase next year.
It will be interesting to see whether Samsung will continue to maintain to lead the market with its next-generation foldable phones.
