Samsung Galaxy S26 & S26 Plus to be equipped with Exynos 2600 exclusively in Korea

Samsung is now anticipated to launch the Standard and Plus models of the Galaxy S26 series equipped with the Exynos 2600 chipset exclusively in Korea.

A few previous rumors suggested that it might be possible Samsung could phase a delay in the Galaxy S26 series launch; however, it’s not the case anymore since new reports revealed that he launch will be sometime in late January 2026.

The upcoming Galaxy S26 series will include at least three models, as mentioned below –

  • Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra

Initially, it was revealed that Samsung could power the entire series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. But later reports suggest that it will use its in-house Exynos 2600 chipset to power the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ in most regions. While the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be equipped wth the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset globally.

Meanwhile, a new report from ITHome revealed that Samsung is considering launching the Exynos 2600-equipped Galaxy S26 & S26 Plus exclusively in the Korean market. For the global launch, it will use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

The reason behind this is that the Exynos chipset suffered from three steadfast issues, which are as follows:

  • kernel-level security vulnerabilities
  • Excessive heat buildup under heavy usage
  • Low manufacturing yield

According to the report, due to these issues, most consumers choose Snapdragon-powered models over Exynos, and currently, the yield is around 50 percent, which hints that the company may struggle to produce enough usable chips to supply the Galaxy S26 and S26+ across regions.
