Samsung Notes May Finally Let You Use Your Own Fonts
Samsung Notes does a lot right. It syncs across devices, handles handwriting well, and organizes ideas without feeling cluttered. But it’s never let users bring in their own fonts—something people have been asking for since the app launched.
A user recently posted on Samsung’s community forum asking for third-party font support. The idea was simple: more fonts mean better visual separation between headers, body text, and quick notes. Different styles for different purposes.
The Samsung Notes manager responded directly. They acknowledged the gap, apologized for the delay, and said the company is now considering adding the feature in a future update.
The holdup? Copyright concerns. Samsung has been cautious about opening the door to external fonts because some typefaces come with licensing restrictions. Using them in an app distributed to millions of users could create legal complications.

Still, other note apps have solved this problem. Notion, Evernote, and even Google Keep offer font flexibility without breaking rules. Samsung could do the same with proper guardrails.
Third-party fonts aren’t the only missing piece. Users have also requested tables, better undo options for sticky notes, page-turning animations, smarter file sorting, and more control over rotating images and shapes. Some want adjustable letter spacing. Others want to split notes across multiple screens.
Samsung Notes is solid, but it’s not finished. If the company follows through on font support, it could signal a willingness to close these other gaps too.
