Overgeared Anime – What We Know So Far Ahead of the October 2026 Premiere

The Overgeared TV anime now has a locked Japanese start date, a third trailer, a new key visual, and two more cast names. J.C.STAFF’s adaptation of the Korean webtoon premieres on Tokyo MX and BS11 on October 2, 2026 at 11:30 p.m. JST. Crunchyroll will stream it worldwide as it airs. In Japan, Prime Video gets an early drop on September 27.

The September 13 update also previewed the opening theme “SATISFY” by Re:name and the ending theme “Ray of Emotion” by TAO. Yuki Murata joins as Irene. Yurika Hirayama joins as Isabel.

What We Know

Youngwoo Shin is a deadbeat in real life and a mediocre player in the VR MMORPG Satisfy. Online he is Grid. His luck flips when he gets Pagma’s Rare Book and inherits the legendary blacksmith class Pagma’s Successor. He can forge gear nobody else can wear — and he can wear it himself. The catch in the source material is brutal: using that inheritance resets his levels. He has to climb again with better items than his rank should allow.

The anime was announced on June 3, 2026 with a teaser visual and first trailer. Ayako Kono (Sword Art Online Progressive) is directing at J.C.STAFF. Kenta Ihara is writing series composition. Ryosuke Tanigawa is designing the characters. Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Mushoku Tensei) is composing the music. Yoshikazu Iwanami (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) is sound director. Egg Firm is producing.

Tatsumaru Tachibana (The God of High School) voices Grid. Asami Seto (Jujutsu Kaisen’s Nobara) voices Yura. Later additions include Saya Fukuzumi as Euphemina, Shuntaro Takayama as Huroi, Riho Sugiyama as Jishuka, Masaaki Mizunaka as Toban, Ko Bonkobara as Regas, Masaya Fukunishi as Vantner, Kohei Amasaki as Pon, and Shunichi Toki as Faker.

August 19 locked the October 2 air date and the theme songs. September 13 added the third trailer, third key visual, Irene, and Isabel. Crunchyroll is also putting the show in its Anime Nights sneak-peek screenings in U.S. and Canadian theaters on September 21, with Japanese audio and English subtitles.

The source is Saenal’s KakaoPage web novel (2014–2024), adapted as a webtoon by Monohumbug at REDICE STUDIO with art by Team Argo from April 2020. Yen Press / Ize Press publishes the English print edition. Tapas carries the official English digital comic. Japanese title: Tempal: Item no Chikara (テムパル～アイテムの力～). Korean title: 템빨.

A separate Nexon / Gray Games MMORPG using the same IP is also in the pipeline for PC and mobile in Korea and parts of Asia, with more game news expected from October. That is not the anime.

What This Means for Fans

Overgeared is landing in the same Korean-fantasy lane that Solo Leveling opened, and REDICE worked on that webtoon too. The hook is different. Grid is not a silent overpowered hunter. He is a broke, awkward craftsman who wins by making better loot than everyone else. If J.C.STAFF sells the forging, the ugly early Grid, and the later gear flex, the show has a clear identity.

The risk is production. J.C.STAFF is coming off a rough One Punch Man Season 3 reputation. Kono’s Progressive films are the better reference for what this staff can do with game-world action. Episode one on October 2 is the first real test.
