Samsung Galaxy S20 LTE/5G gets February 2023 security update in Latin America
Samsung is rapidly distributing new updates for its Galaxy devices. Currently, the company is serving the new security update in the form of a February 2023 Android security patch; the update is dedicated to improving device security.
According to Samsung’s security SMR, the February 2023 security update brings several patches that fix a lot of vulnerabilities and exposures; it is worth noticing that Samsung has also added some extra patches that exclusively target the loopholes of Galaxy devices.
If we look at the details of the latest security patch, it includes 48 patches that Google adds that target Android OS security; on the other hand, Samsung has also packed 7 more patches that fix the vulnerabilities of Galaxy devices. The update rolling out in Latin American countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, and Uruguay.
Apart from these, the update doesn’t bring any new features; users who own Galaxy S20 devices can identify the latest update by the firmware version number G980FXXSFGWAD and G985FXXSFGWAD for Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+, while the 5G variant of the devices is getting the same update with version number G981BXXSFGWAD, G986BXXSFGWAD, and G988BXXSFGWAD for Galaxy S20 5G, Galaxy S20+ 5G and Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, respectively.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is one of the rugged smartphones that is dedicatedly made for using it in any weather condition. It is worth noticing that the company hasn’t limited it to giving tough hardware but also keeps it up to date with its fresh software. In the last major update, Android 14, it has grabbed some new features, and unfortunately, it has also got an issue with the camera, which is causing inconvenience to the users.

The Galaxy XCover 5 has received Android 14 and One UI 6.0, and after installing them, users have started reporting about the camera issue. Now, with the latest development, Samsung has started rolling out the update for the Galaxy Tab A8.
Notably, the Galaxy Tab A8 series has started receiving the April 2024 security patch update in South Korea and in several European countries. More specifically, the Wi-Fi and LTE models of the Galaxy Tab A8 are getting the update with the firmware version numbers X200XXS3DXD5 and X205NKOS3DXD5, respectively, in South Korea. Meanwhile, the European units of the Galaxy Tab A8 LTE and Galaxy Tab A8 Wi-Fi are getting the update with the firmware version numbers X205XXS3DXD5 and X200XXS3DXD5, respectively.
The April 2024 security patch update doesn’t bring any new features or changes for your tablet, but it will provide you with a bunch of security enhancements that will surely provide some extra protection against external threats.
It is worth noticing that the Galaxy Tab A8 tables are receiving the first update after One UI 6.0, so if, after the installation of the major update, you are facing any type of issue, then the latest security patch update may help you get rid of that issue.
If you are using the Galaxy Tab A8 device in South Korea or any European country, then you should update your device to the latest update by simply going to the software update menu from the system settings.
