Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Official With 3 Years Of Advantage

Published

on

Enjoy the benefit of three years. On the day of the official release of its new folding smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, specifically the fourth generation, Samsung can only accomplish this.

Since Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, the first truly foldable smartphone with widespread commercial distribution, was introduced to the market in the middle of 2019. Z Flip will soon be added to the list with a smaller form factor.

It is probably for this reason, in addition to the attempt not to raise an already very high price in a 2022 of “fire”, that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is absolutely in the name of continuity. A product that at first glance is difficult to distinguish from the previous year’s model, but which still has its own significant updates.

Technical Specifications:

  • Screen:
    • Interior Screen: 7.6-inch Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED 2X Panel, 2176 x 1812 pixels, 374 ppi, 120 Hz, Gorilla Glass Victus+
    • External screen: 6.2-inch Infinity-O panel, 2316 x 904 pixels, 120 Hz
  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1, 64-bit, 4nm
  • Memory: 12GB RAM, 256 or 512GB of internal memory, (up to 1TB in some regions)
  • Rear cameras:
    • 50MP main sensor (f/1.8, OIS, Dual Pixel AF)
    • 12MP ultrawide sensor (f/2.2, 1.12 μm)
    • 10MP telephoto sensor (f/2.4 1.0 μm, OIS, PDAF, 3x optical zoom)
  • Front camera: 10MP 1.22μm, f/2.2; 4MP 2.0μm FF, f/1.8 sensor
  • Fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, IPx8 certification, S-Pen support
  • Dual SIM support (double nano SIM) and eSIM support
  • 5G connection, Bluetooth 5.2, WLAN AX, NFC, USB Type C
  • Battery: 4400mAh, 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging
  • Operating System: Android 12 with OneUI Customization
  • Size:
    • Closed: 155.1 x 67.1 x 15.8 mm
    • Open: 155.1 x 130.1 x 6.3 mm
  • Weight: 254 grams
  • Colors: black, gray and beige

As you can see, it is therefore once again a true premium smartphone that maintains some of the most appreciated features of previous generations, such as a huge internal screen that makes it compete with the tablet world, support for the S Pen, waterproofing, wireless charging support and the camera under the front display.

Starting from the latter, the company has increased the pixel density above the sensor thus making the display yield even better, while leaving the sensor for selfies and video calls by only 4 megapixels. Overall, the format of the product changes, both from closed and open, is a little wider and slightly lower, especially we believe in improving the convenience of use of the external screen, one of the critical issues of the previous model. From our quick preview test it’s hard to tell if there’s really an appreciable difference in everyday use. The first impression would push us to say the opposite.

From a hardware point of view, the real novelty is certainly the new optically stabilized 50-megapixel ƒ/1.8 main sensor, inherited from the S22 family. We will find out in the review if it keeps its promises in terms of yield.

All the other news told by Samsung are software and therefore we cannot yet express ourselves on the rendering of the fold of the display, one of the most popular questions by our readers. From our brief test, however, we can say that we immediately noticed a fluidity that we had not noticed on previous models. We therefore have good hopes for the overall performance of this new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which we have already appreciated on other models as well.

According to the information, some Galaxy S24 users in Korea have made numerous complaints and demanded some customizability of AOD through Lockstar. However, it is unclear if these changes will be implemented through the next application update or in a different way. However, the Good Lock support team has confirmed that they are actively working on this issue.

If we talk about the AOD customization option available on other devices, you can change the color and style of the clock and other elements, and you can also manage the brightness of the AOD manually.
