The Samsung Galaxy S24 family reached the floor with all members, including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy 24 Ultra, coupled with their specific powerful chipset.
Samsung has powered the Galaxy S24 Ultra with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. On the other hand, the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 are powered by a Samsung Exynos 2400 in most regions. But also by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some particular regions. Check out the full article to know which regions the base and plus variants get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ get the Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy
The Korean giants this time use Exynos chips for powering the smartphones in the latest flagship series. Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ smartphones are powered by an Exynos 2400 processor in all regions worldwide, excluding the US, Canada, and China regions.
In the US, Canada, and China regions, the brand offers Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ smartphones.
Exynos 2400 processor specifications:
The Exynos 2400 is the third-generation 4nm chip, which is made using Samsung Foundry’s new and improved process called 4LPP+ (or SF4P). It delivers seamless performance as well as high-end performance and power efficiency. However, its predecessor, the Exynos 2200, has the first generation 4nm process of Samsung, named 4LPE (or SF4E).
The Exynos 2400 has a 10-core CPU coupled with the latest ARM cores and an AMD RDNA3-based Xclipse 940 GPU. This chipset includes a Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.2GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.9GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.6GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 1.95GHz.

Here’s the catchable fact: these clock speeds are lower as compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is made by TSMC on its second-generation 4nm process (N4P). It is one of the first Exynos processors from Samsung that uses a chip packaging feature named FOWLP, which helps upgrade thermal management and shows that the chip will stay cooler even under long-lasting loads. This Exynos 2400 chip features the Xclipse 940 GPU, based on AMD’s newest RDNA3 graphics processing mechanism. Also, the brand is ensuring that it is 70% faster as compared to the Xclipse 920 GPU, which was used in the Exynos 2200.
It features a built-in NPU that is 14.7x faster than the predecessor chip, BeiDou (BDS), Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB 3.2 Type-C for connectivity, a sun-6GHz 5G network, and up to 9.64 Mbps download speed and up to 2.55 Mbps upload speed.
The Exynos 2400 has ISP-supported camera sensors attached with a resolution of 320 MP. Plus, it has the power to snap 108 MP frames even at zero shutter lag (30 fps) or 64 MP + 32 MP frames with zero shutter lag (30 fps) at the same instant. It also has the power to record up to 4K 120fps or 8K 30fps videos along with EIS. Apart from all this, it has tons of other capabilities that will help in delivering a smooth and fluent performance.

Jumping on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in the US, Canada, and China. Whereas the ultra variant has this chipset in all regions. It is Qualcomm’s latest-generation processor, which delivers high-end performance.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy: Specifications
It is a 4nm chip made using TSMC’s latest 4nm process (N4P) and features eight CPU cores, the Adreno 750 GPU, an extra powerful NPU, and quite faster wireless connectivity. This NPU helps the processor deliver enough oomph to power generative AI and personalized AI features on the Galaxy S24 series.

However, the exact clock speed of CPU cores and GPUs has not been officially revealed yet by Qualcomm and Samsung. It is known that its lone Coretex-X4 CPU core is clocked at 3.39 GHz (90 MHz higher than the stock Snapdragon 8 Gen 3), whereas three Cortex-A720 CPU cores are clocked at 3.1 GHz (50 MHz lower) and two Cortex-A720 CPU cores are clocked at 2.9 GHz (50 MHz lower).
This chipset also features two Cortex-A720 CPU cores, which are clocked at 2.2 GHz (70 MHz lower). At the moment, it is not clear yet that the GPU-clocked speed of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is higher than the stock Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
