Samsung One UI 6.1 integrates a new dedicated camera widget for flagships

Published

on

Samsung, to upgrade the users’ experience, announced its latest software version, One UI 6.1, with the Galaxy S24 series.

However, it’s not too long since Samsung upgraded its eligible Galaxy devices with the One UI 6.0 update. Now that it’s time for the new software update, it is expected that soon the brand will release One UI 6.1 to a more eligible flagship device. This update has arrived with bundles of features, which include super HDR, better slow-motion videos, single-take, and many more. One of the remarkable features of One UI 6.1 is the custom expert RAW camera widget.

Samsung One UI 6.1 Have New Expert RAW widget

One UI 6.1 arrived with a new camera widget named Custom Expert Raw. In a way, it is similar to the Custom Camera widget; one can easily use a custom title, the camera settings, and the widget’s background.

For the rear camera, it permits three modes: astrophoto, multi-exposure, and ND (neutral density) filter. This seems like a remarkable feature for those who used to prefer Expert RAW application mode or have a workflow requiring a particular mode in the Expert RAW camera application.

The brand is expected to deliver more options and settings for this widget in the future. However, at the time, it was not clear enough whether the older devices were eligible for this Custom Expert Raw widget or not. But there’s a high chance of that happening with the One UI 6.1 update.

The Korean tech giants have already unveiled the eligible device list for Android 14-based OneUI 6.1.

  • Galaxy S23 series
  • Galaxy S22 series
  • Galaxy S21 series
  • Galaxy S23 FE
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5

Apart from Expert RAW, One UI 6.1 also has other remarkable features, which include a wallpaper generator, custom font options for the lock screen clock widget, improved animations and transitions, weather effects for the lock screen wallpaper, note summarization in Samsung Notes, a voice recorder along with transcribing and language translation, and many more.

Unfortunately, the older Galaxy smartphones are not eligible for most of these AI-powered features because of their dependence on a newer chipset with a more powerful NPU.
