Samsung Dialer Needs WhatsApp Call Integration

Now the Phone by Google application shows calls carried over WhatsApp on the Recent page. Here, the recent page stands for the page that contains call logs.

This is being speculated on by a post on X shared by a tipster, KishoreHe mentioned that “Google Phone started showing WhatsApp calls in the phone dialer app similar to an iPhone.” However, he doesn’t mention that he encountered the latest change with the beta version or the stable version of the two apps.

By this statement, it is pretty clear that the dialer app mentions’WhatsApp’ under calls from WhatsApp in the main phone dialer app’s call. Noticeably, to avoid confusion, the application shows the name of the network to which the calls belong to distinguish between the two types of calls.

A call button is also housed on the call log, which lets you make that WhatsApp call once again directly from the dialer application. However, at the moment, there’s no information about whether this new feature is part of Phone by Google or WhatsApp. But it is expected that it will come to light as more people start noticing this change. It appears that the latest change, Phone by Google, will also show calls from messaging platforms, which include Signal and Telegram, soon.

If you are a Samsung Galaxy smartphone user, then you might be using Samsung’s Phone app for making regular calls. It is expected that, gradually, the Korean giants will also gear up to offer this feature to their fan community. By chance, if the brand does not offer it, then you can change your default dialer from Samsung Phone to Phone by Google by downloading the app anytime. And then going to Settings >> Apps >> Choose default apps >> Phone app and choosing Phone by Google.
