Galaxy S24 Camera: Never Miss a Moment with These 6 Features

Published

on

Samsung offers a pocket camera in the name of the Galaxy S24 series. Initially this year, Samsung debuted its Galaxy S24 flagship series, which features a high-end camera setup to enhance the capturing experience.

All thanks to ProVisual Engine, the Galaxy S24 series features versatile camera tools and editing options that are all powered by ProVisual Engine, which results in an effortless capturing experience. Let’s take a closer look at the features that help enhance the capture quality as well as the experience.

ProVisual Engine Features That Let You Capture Vibrant Photos With Galaxy S24 Series

Motion Photo

Motion Photo is a new feature of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series; it just captures the action in short bursts; for instance, before taking a still picture, it records a few seconds of video and then results in a single file that includes both still pictures as well as a short clip of the action.

One can also call it a live photo. In the Editor app, you can select any given frame from Motion Photo to save as a standalone image. Automatic AI upscaling lets you choose a still photo from the motion photo and then save it as a dedicated, high-resolution image (12 MP). The brand has offered Super HDR, which lets you capture high-quality images whether the lighting is strong or dim. Apart from all that, you can also use Motion Photos alongside other editing effects such as Single Take from the Enhance-X app.

  • Faster Shot-to-Shot Shutter Speed

The Galaxy S24 series’ camera permits you to take more photos just within a time span, along with a 30% boost in shot-to-shot shutter speed as compared to its predecessor series. This delivers crystal-clear photos even in rapid succession without having to slow down while images process.

This helps in a scenario where you are capturing your dog, and then faster shots will let you capture every single moment without even missing it. A faster shutter creates a shorter exposure. In short, this just helps you take more photos in a short time.

  • Instant Slow-Mo

Instant Slow-mo just slows down the video without even asking to be recorded in slow motion in readiness. This feature is based on an AI technique by which it analyzes existing video and creates new frames in between, effectively creating seamless slow-motion replays. This supports various video formats, which are as follows:

  • HD (720p) at 24 fps to UHD (4K) 60fps slow-motion
  • FHD (1080p) 240fps to UHD (4K) 120 fps super slow-mo
  • 480×480 24fps videos (this support will expand)

For achieving these slow-mo effects, the Galaxy S24 series uses powerful AI Frame Rate Conversion (FRC) technology; AI FRC takes each two frames out of video as they were actually recorded and uses a deep learning model to analyze and extract motion details. Extracting this detail creates the differences among frames and helps AI FRC interpolate intermediate frames, which give the video slower motion. This cycle runs twice—in both square dimension and reverse dimension—to boost the accuracy of the new, additional frames that have been generated. When this is completed, the results of these two processes are integrated one last time to render the final, AI-generated intermediate frames that give the video both fluid slow motion and meticulous detail.

  • Dual Recording:

The Samsung Galaxy S24 features a dual recording facility, which is a camera mode that lets you record video from two rear cameras at the same moment in time. Upgraded from the previous Director Mode feature, Dual Recording now even permits recording with two rear cameras at the same time—ultra wide with 3x and Ultra HD supported on the S24 Ultra. Also, with Preview Snap, one can extract a snapshot image from a recording at any time. The dedicated Image Signal Processor (ISP) Block and improved ISP capabilities support enhanced video noise as well as brightness.

  • 10 ND Filter Types:

10 ND Filter stands for the Natural Density (ND) filters, which are often stuck to professional-grade cameras to help do things such as limit light, reduce noise, or stretch exposure. There is no need for such attachments, with 10 different ND filters built into the Galaxy S24 series camera for maximum user choice and control. ND-filter photos combine various frames together and analyze object movement to create one still image with a crystal clear sense of living motion; for instance, photographs of waves or waterfalls.

  • Single Take:

The Galaxy S24 offers a Single Take feature to enhance the capturing experience. This feature permits one to capture a range of image types with just a click, up to eight in total, based on one shot, which means one can easily sneak a quick shot of any moment without even wasting any time deliberating over the best camera mode in advance. Apart from this, AI also enhances Single Take’s pose and skeleton detection power.

Undoubtedly, Samsung this time has upgraded the camera setup of the Galaxy S24 series twice as much as last time, along with novelties of AI tools that enhance the users capturing as well as editing experience as per their convenience.

For Samsung fans who prefer mid-range, affordable devices, the giant is setting up a new M-series device called the Galaxy M35 for them.

The Samsung Galaxy M35 is expected to knock on the door soon, as it shows up on the Google Play Console. The report from YTECHB is unveiling that now the Korean giant is gearing up to bring a new affordable smartphone, the Galaxy M35.

Apart from the appearance of the Galaxy M35 on the Google Play Console, a few specs of the smartphone also come to light; for instance, processor, storage, and more. It is reported that the forthcoming Galaxy M35 is powered by an in-house Exynos 1380 chipset.

The storage package counts 6GB of RAM but is expected to bring different internal storage options that might be available at its debut. The listing also reveals that the upcoming Galaxy M35 will run Android 14. The picture stored in the database confirms the upcoming Galaxy M35 features a triple camera setup.

The rest of the specifications are yet to be revealed, but it seems that they might be similar to the Galaxy A35; for instance, the Galaxy A35 features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display, a 50 MP main camera, and a 5000mAh battery. In a way, it is not quite surprising that the Galaxy M35 is exactly similar; however, the M series smartphones usually arrive with the use of bigger batteries.

The brand has not revealed anything regarding the smartphone officially yet, but it will be interesting to see what new novelties the upcoming Galaxy M35 will bring.

No Foldable Fan Edition This Year: Samsung Cancels Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE

Published

Samsung is close to debuting its next-generation foldable series, which includes only two devices: the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The rumored Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Fan Edition (FE) device is now appearing not to join the series, as the report says.

Even before any official statement or launch, leaks and rumors already revealed most details regarding these phones, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE was also part of them. Samsung foldable fans, especially those who prefer budget devices, eagerly waited for the device, and now the report says that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE may have been canceled, at least for now.

It is speculated by the reports from the Korean publication The Elec that Samsung is reconsidering its plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE this year in July alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 for several reasons; for instance, the publication notes that the early production units of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE were not thinner as compared to the key rivals from Chinese manufacturers, which made Samsung rethink the existence of the device.

The device lacked a stylus digitizer, which means it wouldn’t support S-Pen input the same as the original Galaxy Z Fold 6, making it less attractive to some users, which is also the reason behind the decision. Apart from this, the brand is said to have recently completed the testing of the device, featuring an IPX8 rating and a 200,000 fold rating. The Korean giant may have canceled the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE as it’s not satisfied not to offer something unique over its competitors at the moment, so it’s quite better to take time.

However, the delay doesn’t mean that the Korean giant has given up on the idea of introducing cheaper foldables, as the report states that the Korean brand will continue to work on those and may land the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy Z Fold FE models together in 2025.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are scheduled for the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2024, along with a few other gadgets, including the Galaxy RingGalaxy Watch 7 series, and the Galaxy Buds 3 series.

Apple Adopts Existing Technologies Pioneered by Samsung

Apple is now setting up to debut in the foldable market by introducing its first foldable iPhone to compete with Samsung.

Transparently, Samsung is leading the foldable market, but soon it will be tough to maintain the legacy since Apple is actively working on bringing its first foldable iPhone into the industry. The reports from Taiwan’s DigiTimes reveal that Apple has currently signed a display supply contract for foldable devices with Samsung Display.

However, earlier this year, a few reports reported that Apple dropped the idea of bringing a foldable iPhone because of some durability issues, at least for now. A new report said that somehow it appears that the Samsung Display has succeeded in meeting Apple’s demands for enhanced durability.

Initially, Apple is considering mass-producing a 20.3-inch and 8.2-inch foldable iPhone by the end of 2026. The Head of Samsung Electronics MX Business Division Development Team, Choi Won-jun, stated at the Galaxy S23 media briefing held during MWC 2023 that “Apple’s entry into the foldable phone market is very welcome,” adding, “It means that Apple also acknowledges the value of our market leadership, following China.”

On another note, Samsung Electronics restrained the lead in the AI smartphone image by introducing Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S24 series earlier this year. As a result, it achieved its highest market share in the U.S. smartphone market in four years.

Samsung’s market share reached 31% in the first quarter of 2024, which is the highest since 2020, and the key reason behind this appears to be AI-based features. This success is credited to the Galaxy S24 attracting premium phone switchers and conquering market share from Google and TCL.

Now, as a strong competitor, Apple is also expected to enter the AI phone market with its next-generation iPhone 16 series, which is reported to be enabled with Apple’s “Ajax” generative AI model and supported by features in iOS 18. It is expected that details of iOS 18 will probably be unveiled at Apple’s WWDC in June.
