Samsung One UI 7 Unsupported Device List

Published

on

Samsung is aggressively looking forward to the Android 15-based One UI 7 OS update. Currently, the company is taking a breather after almost completing the One UI 6.1 rollout. Unfortunately, some of the Galaxy devices are out of the race for One UI 7. Here’s the unsupported device list.

Samsung, with the Galaxy S24 series, offers seven years of major OS updates and security patches. Previously, it stuck with the promise of offering four years of major updates and five years of security patches. With this promise, some of the Galaxy devices complete their four-year period, and finally, they are out of the race to receive any new major updates. That’s the reason why a bundle of Galaxy devices is ineligible for the One UI 7 (Android 15) update.

Check out the list mentioned below to see if your device is listed on the list.

One UI 7 Unsupported Device List

  • Galaxy A04s
  • Galaxy A13
  • Galaxy A23
  • Galaxy A72
  • Galaxy A52
  • Galaxy A52 5G
  • Galaxy A52s
  • Galaxy M53 5G
  • Galaxy M33 5G
  • Galaxy M23
  • Galaxy F23

However, Samsung has not officially released the One UI 7 ineligible device yet, so it might be possible for the brand to add more devices to the list. Samsung has already started internal One UI 7 beta testing for the Galaxy S4 device, which could arrive sometime in August. However, recently it was reported that Samsung could not release One UI 7 early since it is actively looking forward to releasing the Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 first.

One UI 7 will bring dozens of new notable changes, improvements, and features, including AI-powered tools to make your daily life tasks easier. If your device is on the list mentioned above, then you should consider switching your smartphone to an upgraded one.

Samsung was busy distributing multiple updates for devices, including One UI 6.1 and security patches for eligible devices. Now the company is preparing to release One UI 6.1.1, the next feature-full update, which will be based on Android 14. However, Galaxy users are not too excited because they are now eagerly waiting for the next major update, One UI 7.0, which will be available in the next few weeks.

One UI 7 Availability

Samsung always introduced its major One UI update after the launch of Google’s latest Android version, which is obvious because every new One UI major update is based on the new Android version. As far as the One UI 7 availability is concerned, according to the past, the update will be available for eligible devices in October. However, users on selected devices can also get early access in the form of beta updates.

The One UI 7 update will be based on Android 15, so it will be packed with all the new features that are arriving in the new Android version. Going into the details, it is reported that there will be a new notification option applied for more control, and it may provide a new vertical app drawer. This time Samsn will allow us to check the phone’s battery health, just like the iPhone, with more detailed statistics. The ability to archive applications will also be one of the important developments. Similarly, there will be more new features arriving with Android 15. Now let’s explore which Galaxy device will get the One UI 7.0 as the first major update.

Google is busy working on its next big iteration, Android 15, as it has already made three betas of the software version available to download. Despite active work on the upcoming version, the release date has yet to be confirmed.

The new report says that Android will be released in a new version this summer, and Google is changing everything again. Google appears to be playing see-saw when it comes to the official release of its latest Android versions. Following the previous schedule of releasing major Android versions, a big leap in their timing came to light; for instance, the Android 13 was released in August, whereas the Android 14 was only released directly with new Pixel devices in October.

This time, it seems that Google will bring the awaiting Android 15 forward to the summer again. Google has announced it will host its Made by Google event on August 13. At the event, Google is expected to announce its next-generation Pixel 9 series smartphones. Apart from the latest smartphone, it is also expected that it could announce Android 15.

The Android 15 beta program is already running on Pixel devices. Somewhere, the focus of the giant seems to be on the forthcoming Pixel 9 phone launch. A teaser hints that the Pixel 9 will be revealed at an upcoming event. The giant could have a fall hardware launch event coming up based on their usual release schedule for new Pixel phones. Google probably has a fall hardware launch event coming up based on their usual release schedule for the next-generation Pixel smartphones, quite possibly the Pixel 9 series and Pixel Watch 3.

One UI 7.0 (Android 15) Could Arrive in October 2024

Samsung is all set to play a big game within the coming months; next month it will host the biggest Galaxy Unpacked event, and three months later in October it will release the stable One UI 7 based on the Android 15 software version.

Among the Samsung fan community, all eyes are on the forthcoming iteration of Android 15-based One UI 7.0. We have already discussed the release date of this latest software update, but the result was confusing. Now the new report is revealing that One UI 7 will be on the floor in October 2024.

One UI 7.0 (Android 15) Launch Date

Samsung announced that SDC24 is scheduled for October 3 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in Downtown San Jose, California, which will be the formal launch date of One UI 7. This hints that the major upgrade is just three months away for the eligible Galaxy smartphones. The Samsung Developer Conference will be held on October 3, 2024. On another note, Google also confirmed its Made by Google event for August, at which the giant might announce the Android 15 alongside Pixel smartphones.

The company might show all the features of One UI 7.0 and then release the first stable version to compatible devices a few days after that. Last year, the SDC 2023 event was on October 5, and the stable One UI 6.0 update came out later that month.

Previously, it was reported that, due to One UI 6.1.1, Samsung could delay releasing One UI 7, but that is not the case anymore. The One UI 7 beta internal testing has already been spotted on the server for the Galaxy S24 series several times. The One UI 7 Beta program could start in August, following Android 15’s launch. More than 50 Galaxy smartphones and tablets are in line to get the One UI 7.0 update.

This upcoming update is expected to upgrade Bluetooth Auracast, NFC, UI design, animations, a vertical app drawer, enhanced battery life, and most notably, the App Lock feature. Android 15 and One UI 7.0 are expected to include several other improvements. Apart from this, it could also bring improvements to other One UI ecosystem features, such as Bixby, Buds Auto Switch, Galaxy AI, Gaming Hub, Modes & Routines, Multi Control, and more.
