Samsung has launched its Galaxy Watch 7 series with One UI 6 Watch-based on Wear OS 5 out of the box and brings a feature called Global AOD for quick access to notifications without unlocking the watch. Now the brand is expanding this feature to older Galaxy watches.
Samsung is looking forward to expanding the new feature, Global AOD, to older Galaxy watches with the latest One UI 6 Watch update. However, the company has yet to release the stable version of the the uupdate, and it’s still running in the beta phase.
Samsung is offering a new convenient feature to its Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 with the One UI 6 Watch beta 4 update with the version that ends with ZXH4. The Galaxy Watch 6 has already received this feature with its recent One UI 6 Watch beta update. Currently, the feature on these old watches is running in the beta version.
Samsung introduced the Global AOD feature for Galaxy Watches
Samsung already offered the Always On Display feature to its Galaxy smartwatches, which allows users to view the time, date, notifications, and certain information on their watch’s screen even when it’s locked. Now the brand is expanding its facilities by offering a new global AOD feature.
Now the company has introduced an advanced version of the Always-on Display with the new branding, Global AOD. Currently, it is available on the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6.
What is Global AOD?
Global AOD is a feature that permits the screen to display more than just the clock when in Always-On mode. This feature can display the same content you were viewing before activating AOD, instead of just showing the watch face.
This lets you see notifications, tiles, or any other information without having to tap the screen to wake it up. It seems quite a beneficial feature, as it provides quick access to information without even asking to fully activate the screen.
