Samsung partnership with Google Cloud to bring Gemini to Ballie

Samsung collaborated with Google Cloud to bring Gemini to its home AI companion Robot Ballie to make it more convenient.

Recently, it was reported that Samsung has already made the signup page live for its AI Robot Ballie, which hints at a near release. Today, Samsung Electronic and Google Cloud announced an expanded partnership to bring Google Cloud’s generative AI technology to Ballie.

Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, stated;  “By pairing Gemini’s powerful multimodal reasoning with Samsung’s AI capabilities in Ballie, we’re leveraging the power of open collaboration to unlock a new era of personalized AI companion — one that moves with users, anticipates their needs and interacts in more dynamic and meaningful ways than ever before.”

Samsung’s Ballie will utilize Google’s Gemini and Samsung’s language models to process several essential inputs, including audio, visual, & sensor data. It will also provide real-time, adaptive responses. This will permit Ballie to offer personalized assistance, like styling advice, by analyzing the user’s appearance and suggesting upgrades.

Gemini integration will make the Ballie more convenient to help users manage not only their home but also their health and well-being. If you instruct, “I feel tired today,” then instantly, Ballie will use Gemini’s grounding in Google Search to give tailored advice on how to improve their energy levels.
