Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Powered by Google Cloud’s Generative AI
Samsung and Google Cloud have teamed up to include generative AI in the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones from Samsung. The businesses announced a multi-year collaboration to offer cutting-edge generative AI to Samsung smartphone consumers worldwide. With the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series at today’s Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, the cooperation officially began. Samsung is among the first users to test the Gemini Ultra, Google’s largest and most competent model for extremely complicated tasks, as part of this agreement.
Additionally, the S24 series will make use of Gemini Nano, the most effective version of Gemini for on-device operations. The Android 14 operating system includes Gemini Nano, an on-device LLM.
Samsung-Google Cloud’s Gemini Pro:
- Gemini Pro on Vertex AI is now available to customers, all credit to Samsung, a Google Cloud partner.
- Designed to be multimodal from the start, Gemini has the ability to comprehend, act on, and blend many forms of data, such as text, code, graphics, and video, with ease.
- Users are able to utilize the summary function in Notes, Voice Recorder, and Keyboard, starting with Samsung-native applications.
- Sensitive Google Cloud capabilities, including data compliance, safety, security, and privacy, are made available to Samsung via Gemini Pro on Vertex AI.
- Google and Samsung have partnered to introduce a novel addition to the Galaxy S24 smartphone: Circle for Search.
- With this, users can just use their finger or an S-Pen to trace a portion of text, and it will launch a Google search on the chosen text.
Imagen 2:
- Imagen 2, Google’s most sophisticated text-to-image diffusion technology from Google DeepMind to date, is also available to owners of the Galaxy S24 series right now.
- Samsung can provide consumers with secure and user-friendly photo editing capabilities with Imagen 2 on Vertex AI.
- S24’s Gallery application’s Generative Edit includes all these functions.
- From facilitating barrier-free communication with intelligent text and call translations to optimizing creative freedom with Galaxy’s ProVisual Engine to setting a new standard for search that will transform how Galaxy users explore their surroundings
However, the users need to note that the use of a Samsung Account login, an internet connection, and/or an upgrade to the most recent Android version may be necessary for Galaxy AI capabilities. Certain features can require the download of extra software, such as language packs, or not work with specific programs. A working network and a Samsung account login are necessary for generative editing. A resized photo up to 12 MP can be obtained by using generative editing. Generative Edit superimposes a watermark on the saved picture to clearly indicate the use of artificial intelligence in its creation.
Janghyun Yoon, Corporate EVP and Head of Software Office of Mobile Experience Business at Samsung Electronics, said, Google and Samsung have long shared deeply held values around the importance of making technology more helpful and accessible for everyone. We’re thrilled that the Galaxy S24 series is the first smartphone equipped with Gemini Pro and Imagen 2 on Vertex AI. After months of rigorous testing and competitive evaluation, the Google Cloud and Samsung teams worked together to deliver the best Gemini-powered AI experience on the Galaxy.”
