One UI 8.0 Revamps Weather App with a New UI

Samsung started gearing up for its next-generation software iteration, Android 16-based One UI 8, which is anticipated to revamp the weather app.
The Korean tech is actively releasing the stable One UI 7 to finish the rollout as soon as possible. Recently, it has released the update for the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 series in South Korea and is expected to make it available widely soon. Meanwhile, One UI 8 leaks have already started blowing in the market.
A tipster on X, @GerwinvGiessen, shared a post revealing that there are coming tweaks in the Weather app with the latest One UI 8 update. According to the tipster, the revamped Weather app will include full-screen animated scenes that vividly depict real-time weather conditions.

These animations will be quite efficient as they feature people and objects interacting with the environment. For instance, during rainy weather, users will see a tiny animated figure walking under umbrellas, whereas on summer days, sunlight rays cut through shifting clouds, which hints that the coming update will make the app more vibrant to deliver realistic representations of the current weather.

Apart from the realistic representations, the animated scenes will be compatible with responding fluidly to changing weather, offering an immersive and cinematic way of engaging with the day’s forecast. However, Samsung hasn’t revealed the official tweaks coming to the Weather app with the One UI 8 yet, so it will be interesting to see whether these reported upgrades will come into existence.
