Samsung infused its QD-OLED panels in Asus monitors

Samsung is expanding its display panels’ reach to more monitors from other brands, as it is now offering its QD OLED display to Asus monitors.

Transparently, Samsung Display is one of the demanding brands in the display market, and already many of them are using its QD-OLED panels for their gaming monitors. Now, it is adding one more manufacturer, Asus, to the list using Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panels.

Recently, Asus launched its new ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG monitor, which features Samsung’s QD-OLED panel along with Google TV OS. The newly launched monitor has a 34-inch QD-OLED display with a refresh rate of 240Hz and a 3,440 x 1,440 pixel resolution.

It’s the first time that Samsung offers its QD-OLED panels to Asus. The ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG supports Chromecast and Miracast and is pre-loaded for GeForce Now for cloud gaming. It comes with connectivity options that include Wi-Fi 6.0 and supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos to enhance the sound experience.

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the QD-OLED TV panel that can reach over 4,000 nits of peak brightness. Regarding the new panels, the Korean tech giant stated that it used advanced panel-driving technology and new organic materials to achieve this massive peak brightness.

QD-OLED panels have over 30% more brightness than their predecessor, which could help to reach up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. The 4,000 nits brightness is achieved using red, green, and blue sub-pixels, offering the highest color purity.
