Samsung assures that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is as durable as its sibling, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, with results of enduring more than 500,000 folds.
Last month, Samsung launched the latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable phones, which have already gained massive attention in the market. The company has blessed both devices with a super-slim design, a smarter camera, and advanced tools to deliver an ultra-like experience.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has also gained the title of the world’s thinnest foldable, with a measurement of 8.82 mm in thickness when folded. A few days back, Samsung Display reported that it had conducted a rigorous durability test of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, assuring the display can last 10 years, and the OLED used in the device has been proven to remain functional even after a 500,000-fold durability test.
Now, in a conversation with Android Authority, Samsung Display confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also internally assessed to have similar 500,000-fold durability as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The company stated, “The Galaxy Z Flip 7’s foldable panel is built using the same durability enhancement technologies as the Fold 7, so we’re confident the device’s durability is on par.”
Reportedly, it has not been formally tested, but Samsung is confident that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is compatible with withstanding 500,000 folds at room temperature, 300,000 folds in high-temperature environments like 60 degrees Celsius, and 60,000 folds in lower-temperature environments up to -20 degrees Celsius.
The company proved that durability is no longer a concern for foldable phones, whether you go for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Flip 7.
