Samsung could supply HBM4 chips to NVIDIA next year

Samsung is working on developing next-generation HBM chips with plans to start mass production next year and aims to enter NVIDIA’s HBM4 supply chain in Q2 2026.

Transparently, Samsung is struggling hard to maintain its countable position in the HBM business, but now it seems that this phase will not remain so long, as it is looking forward to a comeback in the race during the sixth-generation HBM4 era to stand strong against its rival SK Hynix and Micron.

High-performance computing (HPC) and AI applications’ massive demands have raised the growth of the HBM market. However, for so long, Samsung has been trying hard to crack the deal with major clients such as Nvidia, and the key reason behind this is to achieve lower-yielding results.

Samsung’s 12-layer HBM3E chipset is also yet to pass Nvidia’s quality test, which seems to be a crucial step in securing supply deals. Meanwhile, a reliable tipster, Jukanlosreve, revealed that Samsung is actively developing its HBM4 chips, aiming to secure deals with Nvidia. According to the tipster, market research firm Nomura expects that Samsung may begin supplying its HBM4 chipset to Nvidia in the second quarter of 2026.

If things go in Samsung’s favor, then the supply of HBM products could exceed its market demands. It will be interesting to see what will happen next.
