One UI 8 Brings Smarter Photo Watermark

Samsung announced the release of the stable One UI 8 in September for the Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to bring a major upgrade to the Photo Watermark feature.

The Korean tech giant is now actively working on expanding the Android 16-based One UI 8 beta update to more eligible devices. Recently, it rolled out the update to the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6

With One UI 8, Samsung will offer several convenient UI improvements, notable tweaks, and more, including a Photo Watermark upgrade. A reliable tipster, @UniverseIce, shared a post via its X handle, claiming that the stable One UI 8 will bring a major upgrade to the Photo Watermark feature for a few selected Galaxy devices, which are as follows:

However, it’s unclear whether the Galaxy S25 Edge will also get this feature, as the tipster just mentioned the Galaxy S25 series.

With the latest update, you can quickly turn on or off the watermark right from the camera tool. When enabled, you will see a toggle icon on the toolbar above, allowing instant on and off. Noticeably, Samsung has been offering this feature since One UI 7, but with One UI 8, it is now refined to be more intuitive and convenient.

Now, while taking a photo with a watermark, it will be placed in a dedicated frame. The company will offer two different frame styles to suit landscape and portrait photos. In landscape photos, the device name appears on the left, while detailed information is on the right, and these parameters are more “pro” and include ISO, focal length, aperture, and shutter speed.
