Samsung is currently busy with the latest One UI 8 beta rollout for older-generation Galaxy devices, other than the Galaxy S25 series; meanwhile, the company has brought up details regarding its newest monthly security maintenance release (SMR) that integrates patches from both Google and Samsung collectively.
Every month Samsung brings up its security package as a part of the Android monthly security bulletin, which is essential for providing a more secure user experience to the users.
Samsung Fixes Several Bugs and Issues in September 2025 Security Update
First up, the latest Android monthly security bulletin for the September 2025 package comes up with various Google patches, where the company acknowledges 2 critical CVEs, 58 high-level CVEs, 1 CVE is already included in the previous updates, and 10 CVEs are not applicable to Samsung devices.
In addition, a Samsung Semiconductor patch has also arrived in this latest security maintenance release that apparently consists of 1 high-level CVE.
Not just this, but accompanied by the Google patches, Samsung Mobile also provides 25 Samsung Semiconductor patches, which are essential to improve the overall system security of the Galaxy devices that eventually leads to a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against potential threats.
This consists of SVEs for One UI Home, ContactProvider, insufficient permission in ImsService, ThemeManager, System UI, and other relevant improvements.
Therefore, with the monthly Android security bulletin, Samsung aims to provide a smooth and safer user experience, while this time, the newly detailed September patch looks more significant than the previous one, as the package significantly acknowledges a host of bugs for efficient behavior and functionality.
Well, as usual, Samsung has removed the Galaxy Note 20 series, consisting of the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, and the Galaxy M21 (2021) from the security release package; thus, these devices will not be receiving any further updates in the future. At the same time, the company has further shifted Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 from the monthly to the quarterly security list while also adding Galaxy A07 to the quarterly security update list.
