Galaxy Tab S11 Series Introduces Next-Gen Samsung DeX Running Android 16

Samsung just launched its latest Galaxy Tab S11 series, which brings a new Samsung DeX based on Google’s Desktop Mode that debuted with Android 16.
The company also debuted the latest Fan Edition model, the Galaxy S25 FE. The newly launched Galaxy Tab S11 series includes two variants, as mentioned below:
- Galaxy Tab S11
- Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra
Both variants feature brighter & bigger screens, thinner & lighter bodies, great specifications, Galaxy AI, and the new S Pen with a hexagonal design. Integrated with the new hardware, the new version of Samsung DeX delivers true multitasking potential on these new tablets.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra run Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. The new software version brings a new Samsung DeX version for these tablets, which is based on Google’s Desktop Mode (debuted with Android 16).
The enhanced DeX version brings new multitasking features that improve productivity on the tablets, which are as follows:
- Extend Mode and Virtual Workspaces
The Extend Mode feature helps you connect the tablet to an external screen and turn it into a dual-screen setup seamlessly. Now you can run DeX on both screens for a PC-like multitasking experience and also switch app windows between two screens.

The new DeX lets you create four dedicated virtual workspaces and use them for different workflows; for instance, you can have one workspace for your work, while one is for media consumption and another for your personal creative projects.
Apart from this, now you can also switch between the regular One UI tablet interface and Samsung DeX on the Tab S11’s screen with a single swipe down on the taskbar.
