Snapdragon Upgrade Could Take Galaxy S27’s Performance to the Next Level

Samsung’s fan community has already gained a few official-looking renders of the upcoming flagship trio, the Galaxy S26 series; meanwhile, a new report flashes a light on the development of Qualcomm’s newest chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite 3, which might certainly power Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series in the future.

Since Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite 3 chipset appears to be under development, a tipster, Jukanlosreve, via X, shared some key details regarding the upcoming chipset, which is more than enough to predict its power and potential.

The rumors claim that this newest Snapdragon 8 Elite 3 chipset has been codenamed as Hawi and packs a CPU configuration of 2+3+3 cores, while this mix is essentially a mixture of 2 high-performance cores, 3 medium-performance cores, and 3 efficiency cores.

At the same time, the CPU upgrade is also minimal, and therefore, it certainly points to the fact that the CPU will attain an average amount of speed. Nevertheless, Qualcomm might consider using the ongoing trend of the 2nm process mechanism; the core performance may take a significant rise of 10%. But despite that, the GPU score is supposed to gain some significant improvements.

On the comparison side, the tipster has further mentioned speculations regarding the Samsung’s Exynos 2600performance, where the chipset scored a single-core score of 3300 on Geekbench, while also attaining a higher performance rise of about 10% when compared to the MediaTek 9500 at 3.8 GHz.

Well, Samsung is already tipped to be using its in-house Exynos 2600 chipset on the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, and the chipset is supposed to be built with a 2 nm-based process. And on the other hand, a predecessor of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is rumored to power the upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Qualcomm 8 Elite 3 might arrive as the next iteration and, by the name, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 for Samsung’s 2027 flagships.
