Samsung to skip LPDDR6 and use an advanced LPDDR5X RAM for the Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung Galaxy S26 series is highly anticipated to launch in January 2026, which is now reported to use an advanced version of LPDDR5X to deliver faster data speeds similar to LPDDR6.

The Galaxy S26 series has been in the news for so long, as the leaks and reports regarding its specifications, features, design, and processor are continuously blowing in the market. It’s already revealed that Samsung will adopt a two-processor strategy for the series, according to which the Galaxy S26 Ultra will use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally, while the base models will be equipped with Exynos 2600 in most regions.

A reliable tipster, @UniverseIce, shared a post on X, claiming that Samsung is considering using an advanced version of LPDDR5X for the Galaxy S26 series, which will be significant to bring faster data speeds similar to LPDDR6.

If the claim is to be believed, the Galaxy S26 series may use LPDDR5X 10.7Gbps memory, and the company has already started mass production of this RAM, starting with the 12GB version.

Although the Galaxy S25 series also used LPDDR5X running at 8.5Gbps, this hints that the upcoming Galaxy S26 will offer a substantial boost in memory speed and bandwidth. However, the tipster hasn’t mentioned whether it is a confirmed report; it will be interesting to see what happens next.

In case this report comes into existence, the Galaxy S26 series will deliver performance boosts in key areas of the device, launch apps faster while making multitasking smoother, and more.
