One UI 8.5 beta is live, but the changelog lacks key Bixby upgrades in the UK

Samsung has just opened the One UI 8.5 beta program for Galaxy S25 series users, bringing several notable tweaks, UI enhancements, and more, but it lacks the Bixby upgrades that were previously mentioned in leaks.

The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra have received the latest One UI 8.5 beta update in eligible countries, including the US, UK, South Korea, and Germany.

However, the previously leaked changelog of this update mostly matches the officially released changelog in terms of the features and system upgrades, except for the Bixby upgrade. One of the reliable blogs, Android Authority, revealed that the One UI 8.5 beta changelog for the UK users doesn’t include the Bixby-related changes that appeared in the leaks.

According to the previously leaked changelog, One UI 8.5 was supposed to bring several notable upgrades to Bixby, including Smarter device control, Ask anything, anytime, and Conversation history. However, these upgrades do not appear in the UK changelog.

Samsung has already started shifting its focus to Google’s Gemini instead of its dedicated voice assistant Bixby. It is possible that the company could offer these expected upgrades in the later beta updates for the Galaxy S25 series, or it could directly introduce them on the Galaxy S26 series with the stable version. Currently, there’s no official report regarding the Bixby upgrades; it remains to be seen what will happen next.
