Galaxy A37 and A57: Samsung Sticks With the Same Battery Strategy

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A37 and A57 have surfaced in TUV certification listings, revealing that the company isn’t pushing boundaries when it comes to battery and charging specs. The phones will maintain the same approach as their predecessors, even as Samsung upgrades its flagship charging capabilities.

The Galaxy A37 features a 4,905mAh battery that Samsung will market as 5,000mAh—standard practice for rated versus advertised capacity. The A57’s battery size wasn’t mentioned in the certification, though it’ll likely follow a similar pattern.

Both phones support 45W wired charging, identical to last year’s models. There’s no upgrade here, which feels conservative considering Samsung just bumped the Galaxy S26 Ultra to 60W charging. While 45W isn’t slow by any means, competitors in the mid-range space are already pushing 65W or higher.

What’s more interesting than the specs is the timing. Samsung typically releases its Galaxy A3x and A5x phones in late March or early April, but the A37 and A57 might arrive significantly earlier this year.

Reports suggest production has already wrapped up, with demo units sent to reviewers for early impressions ahead of the official announcement. This accelerated timeline could be Samsung’s way of filling the gap left by pushing the Galaxy S26 Unpacked event to February 25, 2026—later than the usual January or early February slot.

Launching the A-series phones before or shortly after the flagship event would keep Samsung’s product momentum going and give the mid-range lineup more breathing room before the S26 frenzy takes over.

The lack of charging improvements suggests Samsung is prioritizing consistency over innovation in its mid-range lineup. The A37 and A57 will likely compete on other features—display quality, camera capabilities, or software updates—rather than battery bragging rights.

Whether that’s enough in an increasingly competitive mid-range market remains to be seen, but Samsung’s betting that keeping things familiar is the safer play for 2026.
