Galaxy S23 Ultra specifications confirmed

Published

on

The South Korean tech manufacturer Samsung has completed the development of its upcoming flagship series Galaxy S23. This series will also get a total of three devices, as usual, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra, of which the Ultra variant has been spotted on a necessary certification TENAA. However, we have got a lot of rumours and renders regarding this series so far, but none of them has been confirmed. Now, as the Galaxy S23 Ultra has recently been featured on TENAA, we finally got some confirmed specifications of it.

As per the documents of TENAA certification, the device Galaxy S23 Ultra, having the model number SM-G9180, will get the support of 4G LTE and 5G connectivity. The device will feature a 6.8 inches display with QHD+ resolution having pixel counts of 3,088×1,440. It will be powered by an Octa-core processor with a total of three CPU clusters. All three of them will run on 3.36GHz, 2.8GHz, and 2GHz, respectively, which is like a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC (AC version). This AC version SoC has a higher clock speed as compared to the vanilla Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor (AB version).

This device will get a quadripartite camera setup on the back with a 200MP primary shooter, an Ultrawide camera with 12MP quality, a 10MP Telephoto camera with 3x zoom, and a 10MP Telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom. Albeit, as per the certification, it has got a 12MP telephoto camera rather than a 10MP shooter because the manufacturer is intended to improve its image quality by increasing the quality of the Telephoto shooter. It will get different variants which will get either 8GB or 12GB of RAM along with 256GB/512GB/1TB internal storage (depending on the variant).

As we have mentioned before, it will support LG 4TE and 5G connectivity. Other than this, the smartphone device also gets Bluetooth and USB connectivity support. It will come with a gyro sensor, proximity sensor, light sensor, under-display fingerprint reader, and face recognition services also. Besides, because the device has a 4,855 mAh battery, it will be marketed as 5000 mAh. Coming to its physical appearance, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will weigh 233g with a measurement of 163.4×78.1×8.9mm. Apart from the specifications, information regarding its launch is still under wraps, but we can expect it between the first two months of 2023.

Galaxy S25 Ultra Rumors Hint at No Battery or Charging Upgrades

Published

Samsung has kept the same battery capacity for the flagship devices while also sticking to the same fast charging speed. If we look at the Galaxy S Ultra devices from the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the company has stuck with 45 W charging and the same 5000 mAh battery. According to the latest report, the Galaxy S25 Ultra may also use the same battery and specifications.

Previous, it was rumored that the Galaxy S24 Ultra could be equipped with stacked battery technology, which could lead to maximizing the component cost, but now, according to an X user named Sawyer Galox, it is reported that the Korean giant will skip this hardware change on the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra to save on component cost.

Along with this, the tipster also expressed his disappointment with Samsung’s take on the unchained hardware. He adds that users who want to buy the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra should keep their expectations low with the battery performance, as Samsung will keep the specs the same with the 500mAh battery and the 45W.

However, the company will also introduce its latest device with new chipsets that may provide improved optimization, which may provide some long-lasting battery life, but it will not provide any improvement in charging.

Samsung plans to implement its dual chipset strategy for Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6

Samsung is preparing to introduce its next-generation foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, given that the new smartphones in the Z lineup typically launch between July and August, some rumors suggest that the company might host the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, 2024. Despite the date being more than three months away, numerous details have surfaced online.

According to recent reports, Samsung plans to implement its dual chipset strategy for the foldable, mirroring the Galaxy S series lineup, where some models of the Galaxy S base and Galaxy S+ devices feature Snapdragon, while in other markets, they feature Exynos.

The next foldable lineup rumoured to come with multiple chipsets; for example, the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s last Geekbench listing showed that it has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. However, this processor is already one year old, so there are fewer expectations that it could be available in the main models. However, if a rumor proves to be accurate, it could potentially be available for the FE variant of the devices.

For your information, the rumors have revealed that Samsung could introduce two new versions of the foldable devices with the brand names ‘FE’ and ‘Ultra‘, so to make the difference, it may introduce them in separate chipsets. If it provides the older chipset for the FE version, then it will be successful in cost-cutting and releasing the device at a low cost.
