Galaxy S23 Ultra’s biggest competitor is its own Galaxy S22 Ultra

Published

on

The South Korean tech conglomerate Samsung is now all set to launch its new flagship Galaxy S23, which is expected by February 1st, 2023. With the launch of any device, the previously available equivalent devices set a strong competition for them, in which the most threatening or challenging competitor will be their own predecessor because of having too many similarities with the latest one. Consequently, the strongest competitor of the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be none other than its predecessor Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Know more about the Galaxy S23 Ultra

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is a device of Samsung’s soon-to-be-launched flagship series Galaxy S23. The device will be booted with Android 13 and One UI 5.1. According to previous reports, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will get a 6.8-inches AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is also rumored that the device will come with Corning Gorilla Glass. It will be launched with a total of 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. Notably, the storage is only expandable according to the information found now.

Apart from this, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will also get a 200MP primary sensor, nearly double its predecessor’s 108MP sensor. It will get a four-camera setup on the back as the Galaxy S22 Ultra has, of which one will be the 200MP sensor, the primary shooter of the device, and the rest three will be the shooters of 12MP, 10MP, and 10MP quality, respectively. It also features a 40MP quality camera for taking selfies. Because of its 200MP shooter, it will also be capable of astrophotography and night photography.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra device will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Samsung does release Exynos-based variants also, but it doesn’t seem to happen this time, as Qualcomm’s officials stated. Apart from this, it will get an Octa-core chipset with the highest clock speed of 3.36GHz, a 5000mAh battery, and 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. This device also has a Fingerprint sensor and Face unlock support. The most pleasing ability of this device is it has got S Pen support also.

Why S22 Ultra is the biggest threat to Galaxy S23 Ultra

By looking at the above-mentioned specifications, one thing is clear; the Galaxy S23 Ultra has rarely gotten any changes in it from its predecessor. It has the same RAM and storage combination, an almost similar camera configuration, the same AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass, and even an equal battery and charging capacity. The S23 Ultra hardly seems to deliver any major changes which can attract users towards it rather than the already available Galaxy S22 Ultra device.

Notably, the only changes the upcoming S series is going to deliver are its 200MP shooter, a quite better clock speed of its Octa-core processor, and the versions of OS and UI. However, Android 13 has already reached the Galaxy S22 Ultra device with the recent major OS update. In the case of S23 Ultra’s UI, One UI 5.1, which hasn’t been launched yet, will also be available in the predecessor device sooner or later. Other than this, if any changes may get to see, those will be some minor upgradation or features.

Hence, with nearly zero upgradation from its previous device, it is a waste for users to switch up to the Galaxy S23 Ultra despite having the Galaxy S22 Ultra already. As it is one generation up from the previous series device, the cost of this device will also be more than the previous one. In that case, the chances of a user buying it also go down because nobody would have thought to spend more if they had a suitable option. So, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the strongest competitor for the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra device.

However, it is unclear if these changes will be implemented through the next application update or in a different way. However, the Good Lock support team has confirmed that they are actively working on this issue.

If we talk about the AOD customization option available on other devices, you can change the color and style of the clock and other elements, and you can also manage the brightness of the AOD manually.
