Good news for Samsung Galaxy S22 series users, the Android 13-based One UI 5 update lands in the United States on Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra models. This time the update hits the Carrier Locked by T-Mobile and Unlocked model of Galaxy S22 Series. However, Verizon already released the same update a week ago.
The One UI 5 update for Galaxy S22 T-Mobile users can identify by the firmware version S90*USQU2VBJA, while the Unlocked users can install the update on S90*U1UEU2BVJA.
The latest iteration brings a lot of new features, system improvements, and advanced security. In a nutshell, it provides overall system stability and enhances your device’s performance.
If we talk about the changelog specifically, which means what we are getting through this update, such as introducing some new features like new app icons and illustrations, new animation and transition effects, enhanced blur effects, and colors which gives a smooth experience in visual design. Some new features are also added for customization, such as now you can edit your lock screen by simply touch and hold it, like wallpaper, clock style, notification settings, and more, in one place easily. It also added new wallpapers, and more options are added in the color palette; also, it allows to set different call backgrounds for different contacts.
The home screen widget can now be stacked, which means it lets you combine two or more widgets on your home screen, saving space on your home screen by analyzing your activity. It now also suggests apps to use, people to call, etc., related to connected devices; it allows you to hide notifications on your TV and play sound from your phone on any Chromecast device.
In the camera and gallery section, it allows you to zoom easily with one hand by single swapping the zoom bar and histogram in pro mode to check the brightness of each tone which helps to get perfect exposure; as well as now you can add a different watermark to your photos. Now you can filter more easily because now the filter selection menu is streamlined in the camera, and you can customize the album in the gallery; this allows you to create new albums and easily merge the albums with the same name.
In addition to these, if we talk about other features, like new AR stickers in the AR emoji section, it now allows you to use transparent background and pair up two emojis together and fun dances and poses. New emoji pairs are available in your Samsung keyboard, and other functionality like Rearrange expression button, entering emoji directly as well as customizing your spacebar row.

Now you can set a different language for different apps and easily set exceptions for Do not disturb, so you can now use DND on individual contacts, and more options are added in RAM Plus. In the accessibility section, it introduces some new accessibility functions such as High contrast font, Color inversion, and Color adjustment, and the color filter is added in the quick panel; more spoken assistance, which means now you can make your phone read out keyboard input so you can be sure to type the correct letter, by tap and hold accessibility button to change feature using access button quickly as well as if you are using mouse or trackpad, new actions are available, when you move the mouse pointer to one of the 4 corners of the screen.
