After releasing the December 2022 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Samsung has confirmed that it will initially target the flagship phones; now, the company has released the new security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 devices.

Currently, the December 2022 security patch is available in Europe. However, we expect the Korean giant to come to other countries and will soon expand it. Users who own Galaxy Z Fold 3 can identify the latest update by the firmware version number F926BXXS2DVKB. The update for Galaxy Z Flip 3 carries a different version number, F711BXXS3DVKB.

According to Samsung’s official documentation, the December 2022 security update includes numerous patch items, which are included by Google and Samsung both, which comes with several bug fixes that target most of the Android OS security issues as well as it also adds some improvements regarding different features of the system.

December 2022 Security Patch Vulnerabilities:

According to the Samsung documentation, the latest patches include the fix to as many as 93 vulnerabilities, 67 of them common to (almost) all Android devices. Of the long list, 5 vulnerabilities are defined as critical, 63 high priority, and 12 moderate. Most of these vulnerabilities affect Galaxy smartphones and tablets with Android 10, Android 11, and Android 12, but some also touch the latest version of the robot. Among the latter, one concerns the RCS system, which would allow malicious actors to access the phone number of an incoming call. It also required action on the vulnerability that would allow access to the contents of the toast notifications of the Personal Area through the Nice Catch app (it is part of the Good Lock package).

Moreover, install the latest security update on your device. It will provide you with extra security, strengthen your device privacy, and give more stability to the device. It is highly recommended to install the latest security update; then you can enjoy all your Internet stuff without worrying about your security.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 back in 2022; it debuted with Android 12, and later, it received two major updates in the form of Android 13 and Android 14 (One UI 6.0). Now, users are eagerly waiting for the next featureful update, which will be available as One UI 6.1. But before that, the company rolled out the April 2024 security patch update.

After introducing the April 2024 security patch to the locked units of the Galaxy A53, the unlocked variant has also started getting updates in the US. Users can identify the latest update by the firmware version number, A536U1UES8DXD7. The update is live on almost every carrier, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Cricket, Comcast, Dish, MetroPCS, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.

The April 2024 update introduces a new security patch that is unrelated to the One UI, meaning it won’t significantly alter smartphone functionality. However, if you are concerned about your device’s safety, you should always keep it up-to-date with the latest security patch. Along with the security patch, it may also provide some other enhancements that could improve the device’s performance and stability.

If you are using the carrier-unlocked Galaxy A53 5G, you should start getting notifications about the availability of the April 2024 update. To install the update, tap on the notification, which will redirect you to the software update menu. Now hit the download button. In case you haven’t received the update yet, you can also check it manually by going to the system settings.
