Samsung to focus on smart home ecosystem at CES 2023

The South Korean tech firm announced the dates for its next Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023) a few days ago. As per this announcement, the company will host the event on January 4th, 2023, at the Mandalay Bay Ballroom, Las Vegas, Clark. Let us tell you that after the Covid-19 Pandemic, this event will be held offline for the first time. For information, the theme for CES 2023 also has been decided by the company. They also have announced that this year’s theme for the event is “Bringing Calm to Our Connected World.”

Earlier today, the CEO of Samsung’s DX division, JH Han has, written an editorial that details what the manufacturer is planning to bring to its smart home ecosystem and what we can expect Samsung to announce at its CES 2023 keynote. He further added those rapid changes in the world leads the global economy to indecisiveness. By looking at this issue, the company is planning to fetch more eco-friendly and beneficial products with the help of its innovative ideas and technologies. They are recently concentrating on the creation of endurable innovations.

According to Sammobile, the South Korean firm is about to unwrap a new extended SmartThings experience. With its help, the integration of Smart Home will also become easy. They are also searching for easier methods to add new appliances to Smart Home. For sure, the company is trying every possible effort for a positive change in the environment. In order to protect it and make it a safer place, they are landing numerous innovative and great ideas, such as using discarded fishing nets in the manufacturing of some components.

Additionally, they also brought ultra-low-power-semiconductors and some energy-saver products, which will help to reduce the energy consumption rate. Not even with the ideas, Samsung also joins its hands to work with Asia Clean Energy Coalition (ACEC) and various NGOs. It will help to raise the use of renewable energy sources in all Asian production facilities of it. Samsung also joined the Semiconductor Climate Consortium (SCC) during the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference. They are aiming to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions and support green technology startups.

Samsung Setting Up To Overtake Its Rivals TSMC & Apple With 3-nm Exynos W1000 Chip

The Korean electronics firm ‘Samsung Electronics’ is now setting up to apply its latest 3-nm processing technology to the forthcoming Galaxy smartphones and smart wearable watches. It is expected that, initially, the brand will power the next Galaxy Watch 7 with this process. 

The Korean giant will start operations of its second-generation 3-nm production line in its home country by the end of the year. If the reports are to be believed, the Galaxy Watch 7 could be the first product to be powered by the latest chip process technology, the Exynos W1000 application processor (AP) chip, taking on its competitors Apple and TSMC. 

The Exynos W1000 is based on the 3-nm process node, the most advanced technology available in the chip industry yet, which is expected to upgrade computational performance and power efficiency by over 20%. Once Samsung debuts its forthcoming Galaxy Watch 7 powered by 3-nm AP, this will be the most powerful smartwatch to compete with the Apple Watch Series 9 powered by 5-nm AP. 

Apple leads the wearable smartwatch industry with a 45% market share, as per the metrics of the third quarter of 2023, followed by Samsung with a 20% share. On the other hand, Samsung is planning to introduce its latest wearable device, the Galaxy Watch 7, and the very first Galaxy Ring at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris. 

Next-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, are also scheduled for the unpacked event in Paris. Jumping on the next year, the Galaxy S25 series is supposed to debut in early 2025 and is expected to use a powerful 3nm Exynos W1000 chip.

Samsung To Introduce New Wearable Product In Paris Ahead Of 2024 Olympics

Samsung is cooking up a new market strategy as it sets up to hold an Unpacked event, a new product launch event to expand the smart wearable family, around July 10. 

Samsung fans are already eagerly waiting for the July Unpack event, as Samsung is expected to introduce next-generation foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Samsung Electronics says its Mobile Experience (MX) Division will hold an Unpacked event in Paris, France, around July 10.

The referees suggest that the key reason behind holding this event is just to maximize marketing effects ahead of the Paris Olympic Games, which are scheduled for July 26, 2024. The main focus of the giant appears to be unveiling the sixth-generation foldable phones, which are expected to bring more new generative AI features

Apart from the next-generation foldable phones, the Korean brand is also looking forward to wearable devices at this Unpack event, as it is expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Ring, which can be worn like a ring. 

The forthcoming Galaxy Watch 7 will be powered by the new AP Exynos W1000, based on the second-generation 3-nm process. This is a state-of-the-art process developed by Samsung Electronics’ foundry division to catch up with TSMC. Reportedly, the chips based on the 3-nm process are 20% more power-efficient as compared to current 5-nm chips. 

Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Watch 7 will be the first to detect sleep apnea and is expected to introduce blood sugar monitoring using AI and various health data. It can be used for at least up to nine days after charging.

Samsung Setting Up To Bring A Toggle To Turn Off Super HDR In Instagram

Samsung brings a mesmerizing feature named ‘Super HDR’ to enhance the shooting and viewing of photos and videos experience for its newly launched Galaxy S24 series. Now it seems that the giant could add a button to turn off Super HDR on Instagram. 

Super HDR is a feature that captures images and videos in a new format, based on Google’s Ultra HDR format. It delivers photos that are pretty bright in particular areas and have more detailed shadows when viewed on compatible displays. 

However, despite many facilities, some people don’t prefer how Super-HDR works while viewing images and videos onInstagram. Now, as per their request, Samsung is looking for a way to permit users to turn off Super HDR. 

The reports reveal that Samsung is looking forward to offering a toggle button to disable or enable Super HDR inside Instagram. This is because some people prefer and want to avoid how Super HDR images and video display (width, higher brightness, color volume, and wider dynamic range) while scrolling Instagram. 

It is being speculated by one of the South Korean firm’s official forum moderators that the company is setting up with Instagram to bring a toggle to disable or enable Super HDR, similar to a toggle that is already housed in the OS version of Instagram. 

Super HDR is based on Google’s Ultra HDR and captures photos and videos with vibrant colors and more balanced lightning. You can easily catch the difference in both the camera preview and the final results. After uploading the content on Instagram, the super HDR effects will be maintained for a more vivid viewing experience. Then users scroll through images and videos in Super HDR on Instagram, and the display brightens up to match the tone map of the Super HDR file, but some of them don’t prefer the sudden brightness of the screen as they complain regarding this on social media. Now it appears that Samsung is working on it.
