Galaxy Note 10 Lite updated to December 2022 security firmware in Europe

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite was launched back in 2020 and came with Android 10 out of the box, while the other Note 10 series devices were launched a year before; that’s why they are running on one year older Android OS. And taking advantage of after release, the Note 10 Lite has received the latest One UI 5.0 in the build of Android 13, and now the device has received the support of the latest security patch.

The Galaxy Note 10 device is receiving the December 2022 security update in France; the latest update carries a new firmware version number N770FXXS8HVL1. As per the information, the Korean giant has begun rolling out the update in France. It is expected that the update should be available in other countries in the next few days.

The December 2022 security update doesn’t come with any new features, but it brings a lot of bug fixes that resolve previously reported issues related to security vulnerabilities. According to Samsung’s official documentation, the latest security update includes 93 different types of patches, from those 83 targets the Android OS, and the other 13 specifically fix the bugs of Galaxy devices.

Moreover, it is highly recommended to update your device to the new security update because it will work as an extra shield that protects your important data and your privacy. It might also have some fixes for issues that may appear after the Android 13 update.

December 2022 Security Patch Fixed These Vulnerabilities:

According to the Samsung documentation, the latest patches include the fix to as many as 93 vulnerabilities, 67 of them common to (almost) all Android devices. Of the long list, 5 vulnerabilities are defined as critical, 63 high priority, and 12 moderate. Most of these vulnerabilities affect Galaxy smartphones and tablets with Android 10, Android 11, and Android 12, but some also touch the latest version of the robot. Among the latter, one concerns the RCS system, which would allow malicious actors to access the phone number of an incoming call. It also required action on the vulnerability that would allow access to the contents of the toast notifications of the Personal Area through the Nice Catch app (it is part of the Good Lock package).

How to install

Users who own the Note 10 Lite device in above mentioned countries can easily update their devices by following these steps:

  1. On your Galaxy devices, head into your settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click on Software update.
  3. Tap Download and install.
  4. Wait for your device to check for updates.
  5. If a security update is available, you can hit Install now.

We are now at the end of April, but Samsung is still expanding the monthly update for the devices, even though it has rapidly distributed the update to almost all of them. This is due to server limitations, and now the company is rolling out the update for the Galaxy M33 5G and Galaxy A23 5G.

Notably, the Galaxy M33 5G and Galaxy A23 5G are getting an April 2024 security patch update with the firmware version numbers M336BXXS7DXD1 and A236BXXU5DXD6, respectively. With the latest update, these devices don’t get any significant changes but will enhance their security.

For your information, the April 2024 security patch update provides more than 40 fixes, whereas Google has added 27 fixes that address issues related to the Android OS. Meanwhile, Samsung has also added 17 more fixes that will improve the functioning of the Galaxy devices.

You can check for the latest update by going to the system software update via system settings. The April 2024 update will protect users against external threats that can harm important data and provide a seamless experience while using any feature.

If you haven’t received the update on your devices yet, then you should have to wait some more time. Sometimes it takes time to provide every unit of the device. However, once the update becomes available.

Galaxy A55 & A35

Samsung has recently introduced a new software update for multiple devices; however, initially it was spotted on the high-end devices belonging to the Galaxy S series and Galaxy Z series. Now,  with the latest development, the company has started rolling out the update to several Galaxy A series devices.

According to the information, Samsung has made a significant software update live for the Galaxy A55Galaxy A35Galaxy A54Galaxy A34, Galaxy A25Galaxy A15 5G, and A15 4G. It is worth noting that the update has been detected in the European region and is expected to be limited to that only.

According to the latest update, the device will now support the 4G TDD band. However, Samsung has not provided any details about how this feature will benefit Galaxy device users. Based on my observations, it appears that the update will enhance stability and speed on the 4G network.

Here’s the build Numbers:

  • Galaxy A55 5G – A556BXXU1AXC4
  • Galaxy A35 5G – A356BXXU1AXBB
  • Galaxy A34 5G – A346BXXU6BXD2
  • Galaxy A25 5G – A256BXXU1AXC8
  • Galaxy A15 5G – A156BXXU1AXC4
  • Galaxy A15 4G – A155FXXU1AXC4

The company has stated that devices purchased in Germany and used in other countries, such as Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic, will not function in the 4G TDD band.

If you are using any of the above-mentioned smartphones in Europe, then you should start getting new updates. To install them on your device, simply go to the software update menu via the system settings, wait for the update, and then hide the download button that appears.

Samsung’s flagship device, the Galaxy S24, boasts all-new high-end hardware and software functionalities, but it still has some flaws, particularly in the camera department.

To improve the camera functionality, it has already introduced some updates, such as the April 2024 security patch update, which introduced many fixes and improvements. Now the company is planning to introduce one camera enhancement update.

Previously, the camera enhancement was supposed to be available with the May 2024 security patch update, but now, according to a popular tipter, @universeice, it is delayed and could be available for users in June.

However, there is no reason for the delay. Samsung might prefer to concentrate on rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to all eligible devices in May.

As of now, there is no information available about what will come with the camera enhancement update. Along with this, it may also include some new features that will improve the overall performance and security of the devices.
