Galaxy A42 5G gets November 2022 firmware in the US

Samsung is now delivering a security update to its mid-range Galaxy A42 5G. Notably, the device is receiving the latest update in the form of November 2022. As compared to other midrange Galaxy devices, the Galaxy A42 device is one of the devices that received the November 2020 security in December.

According to the reports, the November 2022 security update is now available in the US for the carrier-unlocked variant, while the update will be available for the carrier-locked variant, but it may be available on different carriers according to the release.

Users who own Galaxy A42 5G unlocked variant can identify the latest update by verifying the firmware version number A426U1UES4CVL1. According to Samsung’s official documentation, the November 2022 security patch brings 46 security vulnerabilities. The latest security update may also come with some improvements that enhance the performance and stability of the device.

The Galaxy A42 5G device was launched in 2020 and came with Android 10 pre-installed. Recently, Samsung released Android 13 in Korea, so the device may also get the Android update in the US in the coming days.
