After updating the Unlocked version of the Galaxy Z Flip series to the Android 13 earlier today, Samsung has added one more Galaxy device series to the One UI 5.0 list. The unlocked variant of the Galaxy Note 20 series devices, including Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, is now receiving the latest Android OS update in the US.
The Android 13 update comes with new firmware version numbers N981U1UEU3GVK5 and N986U1UEU3GVK5 for Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, respectively. The update also includes the latest security update in December 2022, which includes nearly 90+ fixes that target several security vulnerabilities and resolve issues reported previously.
The Galaxy Note 20 device was released in 2020 and came with Android 10 pre-installed. The device has recently received the third major Android OS update in the US, while Note 20 series devices already received the Android 13 and One UI 5.0 update globally several weeks ago. Being a three-year-old device and updated to three new Android updates, the Note 20 devices are no longer eligible for major Android updates, but we hope these devices will get some security updates for the next couple of years.
The latest update brings new features, which includes several new features as well as various bug fixes which provide a better experience to users of their devices; with the update, Samsung has revamped the UI design, added some new customization tools to personalize wallpaper, clock style, notification settings, and more.
The Samsung keyboard has now improved and received some new functions, such as stickers, emojis, and gifs. Some additional features have also been introduced, like medical info SOS, RAM Plus and more.
