Samsung distributes a new firmware for Galaxy M42 smartphone
The Galaxy M42 5G device launched in 2021 and came with Android 11 on board. Now recently, the device has received Android 13 in several Asian countries. According to the information, the device is eligible for four security updates per year. Samsung has now released a new security update for the device in the form of a December 2022 security patch.
The Galaxy M42 device is now receiving the December 2022 security update. Notably, the update is currently available in India, it comes with new firmware version number M426BXXU3CVL1, and the update should be available in the remaining markets in the next few days.
The December 2022 security update is a common security update that is expanding to all Galaxy devices; According to Samsung’s official documentation, the latest security update includes several patches from Google and Samsung, which resolves security-related issues and improves the functionalities of the device. Sometimes it also brings new features which are added under existing functions.
As the device was released under the period of three Android update policy and comes with Android 11 out of the box, it is eligible for one more Android update, which means users who are using Galaxy M42 can install Android 14 in the future, while in between the device continuously receives of security patch update as well.
