Samsung rolls out the December 2022 update for its 5 foldable devices in Canada

Nowadays, Samsung is very busy updating its devices with three different software updates, and this is the reason why the company is unable to provide updates for its devices at the ideal time. And for that reason, in regions, Galaxy devices haven’t got the previous month’s update till now. However, the company is trying hard to update the device as soon as possible.

Notably, the Korean giant is now rolling out the December 2022 security update in Canada. Several Galaxy devices are now receiving the update together. Those are Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Fold 2. However, all the devices have already received the Android 13 update.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Flip 4 devices are the latest foldable flagship devices of Samsung, which were launched last year and come with Android 12, the Korean giant has promised to provide the four Android updates to some devices which are released in 2022, so the devices will get updates upto Android 15. while currently, the devices are running on Android 13 and now receiving the new security patch in Canada, users can identify the update by the version number F936WVLU1BVL8 and F721WVLU1BVL9 for Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 sequentially.

Samsung launched these devices in 2021; at that time, Android 12 was in the initial stage. So the devices came with Android 11; later, they were the initial devices that got early access to Android 12 beta and then as time passed, they recently received Android 13. However, these devices come with a promise of at least three Android updates, so for the obvious reason, they will receive Android 14 in the near future, come to the current update, these devices are now receiving the one-month older update in the form of December 2022 security patch, the update comes with version number F926WVLU2EVL9 and F711WVLU3EVL9 for Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Flip 3 5G respectively.

Galaxy Z Fold 2

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 device was the second generation of the Foldable device series. It was launched in 2020, and being a 3-year older device, it is still receiving Android updates. The device has recently received Android 13 in the Canada region, and now it is receiving the first post update after the major one; users can identify the latest update by the firmware version number F916WVLU2IVL7, as the device is launched under the three-year Android policy, so the device is no longer for any further Android updates. However, it will receive more security updates for some time.

December 2022 update comes with bug fixes

The December 2022 update is normal security maintenance. Generally, it contains some enhancements regarding device security by fixing several vulnerabilities. As per the official changelog, the update resolves 90+ security vulnerabilities. Google has included 80 patches which are available for all android phones, while Samsung has also added 13 more patches which are exclusively available for Galaxy devices.

Samsung Galaxy S24 receives May 2024 security patch in Australia

Samsung has introduced the May 2024 security patch to the Galaxy device, initiating with the Galaxy S24 devices; however, the update hasn’t fully reached all the units available worldwide, but the company is expanding it rapidly to the remaining ones. Now,  with the latest development, the company has started rolling out the update in the Australian region.

The Australian units of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers S921BXXS2AXD5, S926BXXS2AXD5, and S928BXXS2AXD5 sequentially.

The latest update for the Galaxy S24 series has only brought some security-related enhancements; you may not notice any visual effect on your device. However, if you have been facing any issues since updating the March software update, you should check out the latest update as it may provide fixes.

According to the official documentation, the May 2024 security patch will address more than 50 different system variabilities. More specifically, Google has introduced 31 fixes that will improve the functioning of the Android ecosystem; meanwhile, Samsung has also added 25 fixes for Galaxy devices exclusively.

Galaxy S24 users can now easily update the device to the May 2024 update by going to the software update menu manually in system settings. As the company has recently initiated the update in Australia, it is possible to take time to reach every unit, so keep patience.

Breaking: Samsung Galaxy A73 gets One UI 6.1 Update

Samsung has a large number of Galaxy devices that are eligible to get the One UI 6.1 update, and to fulfill the update requirement, the company is constantly adding new devices to the list day by day. Today, a new Galaxy A series member, the Galaxy A73, has grabbed the update. 

Notably, the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A73 was spotted in Malaysia with the firmware version number A736BXXU7EXDC. The latest update for the Galaxy A73 doesn’t bring a new security patch as of May 2024. The update brought a lot of new features, so it comes with a massive software package of 2.6 GB.

For the Galaxy A73 device, Samsung hasn’t brought any Galaxy AI feature, but the latest update will surely bring some significant changes that will improve the overall device experience. 

In a nutshell, the update has brought new enhancements for the gallery, bringing new features under the connect and sharing functionalities and many more customization options under the different functions.

If you are using the Galaxy A73 5G device in Malaysia, you can now update the device to the latest version by simply going to the software update menu through the system settings. But if you don’t find the update on your device yet, then you have to wait for some time until it is fully distributed to all units.

Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ get One UI 6.1 update in the US

Recently, Samsung has started releasing the One UI 6.1 to Galaxy Tab S9 FE series devices. Initially, the update for these devices was spotted in South Korea and some parts of Europe, but now, with the gradual expansion, the company is now serving the update for the devices belonging to the US.

It is worth noticing that the update is still using the April 2024 security patch for the devices. It is expected that the 5G variant of the device will get the latest update in the next few days.
